We have completed an open-source community project for the M5Stack StopWatch and would like to request consideration for inclusion in the StopWatch documentation under third-party projects / related videos. We would also appreciate guidance on the official review process and technical requirements for a future M5Burner submission.

Project overview

M5Stack StopWatch × Hermes Agent turns the StopWatch into a portable voice terminal for Hermes Agent. The implementation extends the full Git history of Adolanium/hermes-gadget-sdk; it is not an unrelated repackaging of upstream code.

Implemented StopWatch support

• ESP32-S3, 16 MB flash, and 8 MB octal PSRAM

• ES8311 microphone and speaker audio path
• M5IOE1 power, reset, amplifier, and vibration-related control
• M5PM1 red power key
• Blue, yellow, and red three-button interaction
• Wi-Fi provisioning, Hermes pairing, push-to-talk voice interaction, and local settings
• PlatformIO m5stack-stopwatch environment
• Downloadable merged firmware, app image, SHA-256 checksums, installer manifest, and build provenance attestations

Status and validation scope

The port is explicitly marked Experimental. Display, touch, all three buttons, microphone/speaker detection, a local speaker test tone, Wi-Fi, WebSocket connectivity, and Hermes voice interaction have been tested on real StopWatch hardware. The repository documents both the completed physical checks and the remaining validation scope; it does not claim M5Stack certification.

Licensing and attribution

The project preserves the upstream MIT License, complete Git history, and contributor credits. Third-party licenses and source attribution are retained in NOTICE, THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md, and LICENSES/. The project page explicitly credits:

3. What is the official M5Burner submission channel or responsible team contact?
4. Is additional validation required for other StopWatch hardware revisions?
