This PR identifies the selected compiler and bound Beam installation when a project target is unavailable. It offers a reinstall command only for a confirmed current standalone generation, retaining that generation’s complete target set; older or unconfirmed generations receive manual guidance.

  • Preserve selector provenance and typed CLI error data without running compiler probes or provisioning.
  • Keep reinstall recipes as snapshots requiring review, with an explicit source-checkout prerequisite and POSIX argument quoting.
  • Preserve exact local admission and generation binding when the current installation changes.
  • Direct unsupported official targets to a compatible Beam revision while preserving the project toolchain and dependency pins.
