fix(serde): make serde.zig analysable and run its 16 tests (#70) - #80
Conversation
`src/serde.zig` had never been analysed as a whole: `root.zig` reaches it
through a lazy `pub const serde = @import`, consumers instantiate only the
functions they call, and its 16 inline tests were collected by no step.
Referencing it from the test root exposed three defects:
- `autoSkipField(comptime T, field_name)` forwarded a RUNTIME
`field_name` to `save_policy.shouldSkipField`, which requires it
comptime. The runtime parameter is the right one — it is the
`skipField` contract (`fn (type, []const u8) bool`) that every
`writeComponent` / `readComponent` call site and the engine's
save path use — so the fix is on this side: compare at runtime against
the comptime skip list. Same answer, type-checks, signature unchanged.
- Six tests initialised `std.ArrayList(u8)` with `.{}` (0.16: `.empty`)
and wrote through `buf.writer(allocator)`, which no longer exists.
They now use `std.Io.Writer.Allocating` — the idiom the engine's
`save.zig` already uses for the same writer — and read `written()`.
`root.zig`'s test block now lists `serde.zig`; the suite goes 214 → 230.
Sabotage: making `autoSkipField` never skip fails its two direct tests
and the Saveable-roundtrip test that passes it as `skipField`.
Nothing in the file turned out to be dead code — every failure was a
0.16 API drift or the comptime/runtime mismatch above.
Closes #70

…uded CodeRabbit on #80: the block above the test list still described serde.zig as deliberately absent with its tests uncollected, one line above the import that collects them. Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01XBGRLojiysEr5zy1U5mbP6
