This exercise encourages the students to try different spaces for execution and memory as well as data layouts but it does not promote the use of the modern aliases that do not require explicit backend mention that would need to be guarded by preprocessor macros. It is a less commonly used concept and also has a higher potential for change in the future. So best not to advertize it too strongly in the tutorial Signed-off-by: Luc Berger-Vergiat <lberge@sandia.gov>
