Estimated code review effort: 5 (Critical) | ~120 minutes Merge Risk: 🟠 High · up to The Android Auto feature currently has a privacy/correctness risk where cached media from one account may appear for another account, and a browse-availability risk where very large or malformed catalogs may keep loading indefinitely instead of returning promptly. 🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift
Bound the catalog pagination loop.
_fetchAllCatalogPages loops until the server reports links['next'] == null. Two conditions make this unbounded:
browseLoadTimeoutapplies to each page request only. The aggregate walk has no deadline.- No maximum page count exists. If the API keeps returning a non-null
nextlink, the loop issues requests forever.
For a large library the loop also issues one sequential request per page before returning anything. Android Auto applies its own onLoadChildren deadline, so the browse list can stay empty while requests continue in the background.
Add a page cap and an aggregate deadline, and return the entries collected so far when either limit is reached.

Attach an explicit error handler to the playback-status put future.
put can reject on HTTP or connection errors. Do not await it inside _playAtIndex, because the existing catch would treat a status-update failure as a playback failure and may skip the track.

Scope AppState cache entries to the authenticated account.
The cache lookup before this block returns data before account validation. If one account caches a playlist and another account requests the same playlist ID, _stateAwareFetch can return the prior account's media without a network request. Store account ownership with the cache entry, or include account identity in the cache key and in force-refresh invalidation. Add a test that seeds the first account cache before changing preferences.host and preferences.apiToken.

Closes #118.
This is my first pull request for a mobile app, so consider this while reading it. I developed it with support from Codex GPT-5.6 Sol using Max reasoning and I personally tested the complete feature set end to end with a physical Pixel 8 pro and Android Auto's Desktop Head Unit.
I've developed it in my personal fork because this was the thing I needed the most for totally switching to Koël. And since I've already developed it I thought it could be useful also to the community, so I'm opening this PR.
Here a video with the complete demonstration of how it works:

A-Z filtering
Summary
Known limitation and discussion
To preserve a complete A-Z index, the album and artist browsers currently fetch every API page before returning the catalog. This keeps the index complete, but it may increase initial latency, request volume, and memory use for very large libraries.
Koel's current API does not support filtering these catalogs by initial letter or prefix. For this PR, the implementation intentionally keeps the complete A-Z behavior without server changes. A scalable follow-up could add server-side initial-letter filtering or revisit incremental loading with the maintainer, depending on the desired Android Auto browsing experience.
