Generate the mapping table and regular expressions in prepare so npm pack and npm publish include them even when the generated files are missing. The deprecated prepublish hook only ran during installation.

Use kebab-case script filenames, resolve filesystem paths with path.resolve and import.meta.dirname, and recreate the fixture directory before downloading tests instead of retaining a placeholder. Use node: imports and strict assertions in tests.

Declare the CommonJS package type and lint .mjs files with Node.js globals that exclude CommonJS-only bindings. Align ESLint configuration structure, npm script ordering, Git ignore patterns, and LF line endings with the other jsdom projects. Add the shared EditorConfig settings.

Use ci.yml with the CI workflow name, multiline YAML lists, consistent job and step names, and read-only repository permissions. Enforce dependency engines in workflow installations and explicitly test Node.js 26.0.0 alongside the existing minimum versions.

Update development dependencies, including ESLint config 6.1.0, and regenerate the lockfile.
