Summary

  • Hide button as first action in the sidebar (left of reload); while hidden, a show button appears in the header after the logo. The choice is remembered in localStorage (archsight.sidebar.collapsed).
  • Narrow windows (<800px): menu button on the right of the header opens/closes the stacked sidebar (closed by default, not remembered).
  • Wiki TOC rail appears from 1200px when the sidebar is collapsed (1500px otherwise).

Test plan

  • Toggle hides/shows the sidebar, content widens, state survives reload
  • Sidebar action buttons have equal size
  • Narrow window: menu button opens/closes the sidebar
  • Wiki page TOC rail with collapsed sidebar
  • Print preview unchanged (not tested; print.css already hides the sidebar)
  • bundle exec rake

sidebar is hidden (remembered in localStorage), menu button on narrow
windows. The wiki TOC rail fits from 1200px when collapsed.

The header menu button only opens the menu; the hide button in the
sidebar actions closes it, instead of a hamburger that turns into an X.
