  • Updated native SDKs to frontegg-android-kotlin 1.3.41 / frontegg-ios-swift 1.3.21. Brings in runtime theme and copy overrides for the embedded login box, and a fix for the SDK retrying forever when a refresh token is rejected (previously a rejected token was treated as a temporary failure, so with offline mode enabled each failed attempt queued another with no limit and no backoff).

What changed

before after
android/build.gradle (plugin) 1.3.36 1.3.41
example/android/app/build.gradle 1.3.35 1.3.41
ios/Package.swift exact 1.3.17 exact 1.3.21
FronteggRN.podspec (spm_dependency) 1.3.17 1.3.21
ios/frontegg_spm.rb (PACKAGE_VERSION) 1.3.17 1.3.21
example/ios SPM Package.resolved 1.3.10 1.3.21
docs/setup.md, docs/advanced.md 1.3.11 / 1.3.35 1.3.21 / 1.3.41

Worth a look

iOS is pinned in four places, and two of them had already drifted:

  • ios/frontegg_spm.rb carries its own PACKAGE_VERSION. It is the fallback path used on React Native versions without the spm_dependency helper, so if it drifts, older-RN consumers silently get a different FronteggSwift than everyone else. It matched the podspec at 1.3.17 and is bumped alongside it here.
  • docs/setup.md documented the helper as pinning 1.3.11 while the code said 1.3.17 — stale before this change, corrected to 1.3.21.

The line in docs/setup.md stating that FronteggSwift 1.3.11 routes stepUp() through the embedded WKWebView is deliberately left alone: it records which version introduced the behavior, not what is pinned.

Verification

Both versions were confirmed published before pinning:

  • Android — repo1.maven.org metadata for com.frontegg.sdk:android reports <release>1.3.41.
  • iOS — tag 1.3.21 exists on frontegg-ios-swift; the Package.resolved revision is that tag's commit, 12f3553.
  • Package.resolved edited in place (version + revision only) and re-validated as JSON; sentry-cocoa pin untouched.

Not built or run here: this environment has no Android toolchain (dl.google.com is blocked by the network policy), so CI is the first real build.

Note

Low Risk
Version-only dependency and documentation updates with no changes to auth bridge or JS API surface in this repo.

Overview
Bumps the bundled Frontegg native SDKs so React Native apps pull Android 1.3.41 and iOS FronteggSwift 1.3.21 through the plugin, example app, and docs.

Android pins change in android/build.gradle and example/android/app/build.gradle. iOS pins change in FronteggRN.podspec (spm_dependency), ios/Package.swift, ios/frontegg_spm.rb (PACKAGE_VERSION), and the example workspace Package.resolved (revision updated to match the tag). Docs now list 1.3.41 / 1.3.21 in docs/setup.md and docs/advanced.md (fixing stale iOS doc text that lagged the code).

No wrapper JavaScript or native bridge code changes in this diff—only version alignment. Consumers inherit native fixes/features from those releases (e.g. embedded login theme/copy overrides and corrected refresh-token rejection handling described in the PR notes).

Picks up the embedded login box runtime theme and copy overrides, and the
fix for the SDK retrying forever on a rejected refresh token.

Bumps every pin, not only the plugin's: the example apps tracked older
versions than the plugin did, and the SPM lockfiles still resolved 1.3.10.

Superseded by #128, which carries the same native bump (Android 1.3.41 / iOS 1.3.21).
