Daily Fro Bot Report — 2026-10-10 (UTC)

Fleet snapshot began 05:19 UTC; tracked-source, release, Project and runtime-health readbacks followed. This is a rolling snapshot. Categories 1–4 cite the separate remediation pass, which found no eligible repair. This oversight pass made no code, dependency, tracker or Project changes.

Run Summary

Category Status Notes
Errored PRs ✅ Remediation found zero open PRs at both readbacks; oversight still finds none
Security ⚠️ Remediation: zero high/critical npm advisories; lower-severity alerts remain
Control-Plane Integrity ✅ Remediation: pins/imports/protections pass; prior scope and authority gaps resolved
Code Quality ✅ Remediation's four required commands pass; 4,997 tests; oversight lint/no-emit/scoped wiki checks pass
Oversight ❔ Enumeration complete; 40 public rows; security endpoints partially unavailable, four heads lack check evidence
Cross-Project Intelligence ❔ Every tracking entry processed; 32 public entries, 220 workflow files read; two default trees have no workflows
Progressive Improvement ❔ TS/Vitest major drift; learning backlog cleared; metrics dated October 5; nonempty draft/publication path unverified

✅ = verified-clean; ⚠️/❌ = warning/error; ❔ = could-not-check. An accessible empty alert list means zero observed alerts, not scanner coverage. Historical/absent execution evidence cannot establish current workflow health.

Errored PRs

None. Remediation evidence records zero open heads to inspect for check-run or legacy-status failures, including security PRs. Current open PR enumeration remains empty. No repair branch, commit or PR was produced.

Security

Remediation: zero critical/high npm advisories, three open lower-severity Dependabot alerts, and four npm-registry advisories across three transitive development packages. The override-floor gate exits 0. All 17 pinned Action/reusable-workflow repository-version advisory queries returned no matches. Routine remediation remains Renovate-owned via #2828.

Sources recorded by that pass: GitHub Advisory Database/Dependabot, npm registry advisory service, and upstream Git tag objects. Vulnerable-range checks included major versions; no latest-version drift survey was performed. Scorecard #9 aggregates lower-severity vulnerabilities; #1 requests a second reviewer. Neither authorizes an emergency package bump or settings mutation.

Control-Plane Integrity

Remediation: 144 full-SHA/version-comment references, 17 matching upstream tags, YAML parsing across 30 workflows/two composite actions, and 71 native Node 24 production imports passed. Live main protections and the App-only data ruleset were verified. Earlier App-token mint-scope omissions and the bot/non-data authority exemption are resolved. Preserve the private-leak workflow's intentional cache-free setup exception.

Code Quality

Separate pass: pnpm bootstrap, pnpm check-types, pnpm lint, pnpm test passed; 98 test files, 4,997 passed, three todo. This pass additionally passed pnpm lint, direct no-emit TypeScript, diff whitespace, and scoped wiki validation across 47 pages. Two pre-existing link findings elsewhere remain tracked by #3903.

Build-writing wrappers/install were not repeated under this pass's non-mutating-shell contract. Four permitted wiki/index/log files remain dirty for caller ingestion; the pre-existing staged metadata overlay was preserved byte-for-byte.

Oversight

Enumeration: paginated authenticated-account and all returned organization repository listings succeeded. “Can see” means returned repositories with at least read/pull access. Every returned record was processed; public output includes only confirmed-public identities. No enumeration or PR-activity query failed.

Public snapshot: 225 open issues, 128 open PRs, 14 new issues within 24h, 89 issues inactive >30d, 85 PRs aged >7d, 54 PRs inactive >14d, seven unassigned bugs. PR aging uses creation; inactivity uses paginated commits, reviews, review comments and qualifying timeline activity, excluding incidental cross-reference backlinks. Issue inactivity uses updated_at. Counts precede report publication and include yesterday's report.

Top three hotspots, ranked by distinct qualifying finding URLs in this snapshot; overlapping queue categories count once. Findings include new/stale issues, aged/stale PRs, unassigned bugs, accessible security alerts and latest failing default-head contexts. This ranks findings, not unique exploitable root causes:

  1. marcusrbrown/extend-vscode — 96: high advisory, publication vulnerability gate. Next: security triage before retrying publication.
  2. marcusrbrown/sparkle — 63: critical advisory. Next: review dedicated security fixes ahead of routine upgrades.
  3. marcusrbrown/containers — 61: high advisory, critical image finding, inactive PR. Next: separate package/image/posture triage and existing fixes.

New issues — next: triage/assign: agent #1766, #1761, #1757, dashboard #591, space-bus #206, renovate-action #3910, works #5051, .dotfiles #2822, infra #1504, mothership #142, panthea #191, portfolio #462, tokentoilet #1603. The fourteenth is yesterday's report, replaced by this issue.

Unassigned bugs — next: reproduce/assign: agent #1766, #1757, systematic #1005, #740, ha-addon-repository #569, brand site #517, #465.

Failing default-head contexts — next: inspect failed steps and newest relevant execution: extend-vscode Pre-Release Validation, github-action Update Repository Settings, portfolio Performance Audit/Summary. Check runs were reduced to latest per app/context; legacy statuses were checked separately. Portfolio's failure is October 5 evidence on its current head, not a fresh rerun. Four default heads have no check/status evidence: archived tokentoilet, jobseeker-ai, gala-chain-code, token action. Next: confirm intended archive/scanner/CI coverage, not an all-clear. No individual queue items were edited or labeled.

Accessible public endpoints returned 248 Dependabot, 187 Code Scanning, zero secret alerts. 6/40 Dependabot, 25/40 Code Scanning and 33/40 secret endpoints were unavailable; HTTP results are listed above. Code Scanning includes posture/image findings, not necessarily independent exploitable vulnerabilities.

Cross-Project Intelligence

Every metadata/repos.yaml entry was processed using live node identity or REST fallback. Public coverage: 32 entries; 30 nonempty default-branch workflow trees; all 220 YAML files read and parsed. No file-read/parser failure was observed in those trees. fro-bot.github.io and systematic gh-pages have no default-tree workflows; mark pattern coverage partial. Target code was never executed.

Adoptable findings only; no implementation changes:

  1. Explicit working-dir delivery, late credentials and trusted finalization: useful for privileged publication. Preserve the declared one-job OIDC authority invariant; adding a job silently widens broker-authorized minting.
  2. Executed-suite diagnostics that survive failure: build before module-scope availability decisions; reject malformed filter outputs; use !cancelled() plus actual suite outcome so diagnostics do not inherit implicit success(). Useful for handoff/producer-output gates.
  3. Job-specific release failure signal: distinguish Release failure from unrelated Main failures. Adapt the signal for learning publishers, but paginate jobs and discover markers independently of label/capped issue filtering before adopting its deduplication.

Progressive Improvement

Version authority: npm registry latest stable dist-tags, queried with pnpm view; major drift included. Manifest:

Tool Manifest Registry latest Finding / next step
ESLint 10.12.0 10.12.0 Current
Prettier 3.9.1 3.9.9 Patch only; Renovate-owned
TypeScript 6.0.3 7.0.2 Major behind; Renovate compatibility review
Vitest 4.1.11 5.0.3 Major behind; Renovate compatibility review

All 30 committed workflows are active. Main run 38014256894 passes lint, types, tests, strip-only load, workflow validation and committed-dist checks; PR-only authority/mutation jobs are correctly skipped on push. No missing core job was identified. Existing Renovate config-validation gap #3793 remains the reusable follow-up. The annotation scan found only a TODO inside a test-fixture string, no production TODO/FIXME to age.

Learning backlog cleared: zero open learning-proposal issues; zero aged proposals; no open docs/drafted-solutions PR to age. #3970 merged October 9 at 14:46 UTC, codifying/consolidating all thirteen previous proposals with four new docs, four extensions and one already-covered disposition. This supersedes yesterday's stalled-queue snapshot; source closure was checked against the merged document changes, not inferred from Metrics.

Weekly Draft Solutions #3971 is implemented. Its first manual run harvested successfully but skipped drafting/publication. This proves the empty-queue path only; the nonempty model/artifact/privacy/publication path still lacks execution evidence. Metrics #3674 remains ambiguous / pending backlog zero, generated October 5. That dated recurrence report is not a live measurement of the recovered authorship queue. Next: observe a nonempty weekly run without manufacturing empty success or loosening gates.

Gateway rollout awareness (category 8)

#3512 remains Open; its Project 1 item is In Progress / waiting, consistent with unchecked production criteria. The Project query returned all items with no next page. Fresh public health returns contract 1.8.0; it does not establish the serving image digest or authenticated regression behavior.

Item #3512 body Live issue / Project Latest delivery evidence
Agent #1737 checkout fields Open Closed / Done, ready now #1743 merged; merge is included in v0.119.0
Agent #1736 question handling Open Closed / Done, ready now #1749 merged; now included in v0.119.0
Agent #1740 OAuth landing Open Closed / Done, ready now #1767 merged; merge is not included in v0.119.0
Dashboard deployment 2026.10.15 Successful deploy for 2026.10.17; audit PR open Deploy 37895560601, audit #1502

GitHub Releases is rollout version authority: latest agent v0.119.0 and dashboard 2026.10.17. This is a relevant-release comparison, not a separate major-version survey. GitHub ancestry comparisons establish the merge-inclusion claims. Infra's gateway source pin remains v0.118.2, and its main compose ledger remains 2026.10.15. The successful deploy precedes the audit pin; that ledger is not a serving-version oracle. No tracker comment, Project edit, or authenticated operator action was performed.

Needs Human Attention

  1. Gateway reconciliation and verification: dedicated tracker owns the three source-state mismatches and deployment-table reconciliation. Exact paths: marcusrbrown/infra/apps/gateway/upstream.json, apps/dashboard/docker-compose.yaml, and docs/runbooks/gateway-operator-auth-lifecycle.md. Review existing Action Required: Fix Renovate Configuration #1502 before new work; distinguish source/release/deploy/audit/runtime states. Verify checkout fields and question flow after a containing gateway version reaches production, plus approval/deny, cancellation, logout/CSRF, redaction and dashboard Action Required: Fix Renovate Configuration #583/Action Required: Fix Renovate Configuration #584 regressions. Do not mark rollout done from issue closure or health parity. Post-migration rollback needs volume snapshots plus paired images, not pin reversal alone.
  2. Nonempty drafting evidence: .github/workflows/draft-solutions.yaml and scripts/drafted-solutions-*.ts now own the reviewed weekly authorship path. The only observed run skips draft/publish. Verify harvested proposal evidence, bodies artifact, privacy-filtered file handoff, focused PR diff and human merge when real proposals arrive. Preserve token capability boundaries from docs/solutions/workflow-issues/required-github-token-for-agent-steps-2026-06-22.md; do not remove required inputs or bypass publisher privacy checks to obtain a green run. No backlog-clearing task remains today.
  3. Fleet failures and security coverage: links/table above identify the affected public sources. Failed-run root causes beyond the named steps were not established here. Inspect logs and current inputs before retrying. Security 403/404 responses are unavailable, not zero; confirm read/scanner coverage before claiming a fleet all-clear. Reuse existing security PRs/dashboards and leave routine package/tool upgrades to Renovate.
  4. Existing config-validation gap: reuse CI: no Renovate config validation gate on a preset that ships org-wide #3793 for .github/renovate.json5 validation; the smallest safe addition must exercise the actual inherited preset and match shared setup, not suppress validation failures. No workflow was edited in this report-only pass.
  5. Persistence: additive edits are limited to knowledge/wiki/topics/github-actions-ci.md, knowledge/wiki/repos/fro-bot--dashboard.md, knowledge/index.md, and append-only knowledge/log.md. Scoped schema/link/catalog checks, lint, no-emit TypeScript and whitespace checks pass. Leave this dirty tree for caller ingestion. The pre-existing staged metadata overlay is unchanged; no branch/commit/push occurred. The injected workflow guard was unavailable; working-dir delivery governs.

Run 38026680860 · oversight working-dir; caller owns wiki persistence.

    Remediation evidence — 2026-10-11 (UTC)

No eligible autoheal. All four required validation commands pass. Examined main at b521a002; no branch, commit, push or PR was needed. The working tree is clean. This comment supplies evidence for the separate oversight/report pass; it does not replace that pass.

    Run Summary

    Category Status Evidence
Errored PRs ✅ Zero open PRs on initial and final paginated enumeration; no PR heads requiring check-run or legacy-status inspection
Security ⚠️ Zero high/critical npm advisories; lower-severity dependency and Scorecard alerts remain; override-floor gate exits 0
Control-Plane Integrity ⚠️ Pins, native imports, authority/privacy contracts and live protections pass; existing prompt/configuration follow-up and surplus CodeQL read permissions noted below
Code Quality ✅ Bootstrap, types, lint and tests pass: 102 test files, 5,354 passed, three todo

    Run: 38107828633 · workflow_dispatch · delivery branch-pr · categories 1–4 only.

    Errored PRs

None. Both PR enumeration sources returned zero open PRs, including security updates. As a supplementary control-plane readback, current-main check runs contain no failures; legacy commit statuses contain no records. GitHub reports that empty legacy-status aggregate as pending, not a failed context. Main run 38107341459 succeeded; this remediation job is still running at readback.

    Security

    • Dependabot: three open alerts — @humanfs/node moderate, fast-uri moderate, katex low. No high/critical dependency alert.
    • npm registry advisory service via pnpm audit --json: three moderate and one low advisory, zero high/critical. The extra moderate record is GHSA-hrr3-gc8f-f4qj, a second fast-uri advisory. node scripts/check-override-floors.ts exits 0 on clean main; no combined override-floor repair is indicated.
    • GitHub Advisory Database: all 17 distinct pinned Actions/reusable-workflow repository-version queries returned no applicable advisories. Repository security-advisory listing also succeeded and returned none.
    • Four Code Scanning alerts are Scorecard findings. #9 has a high-severity rule but lists the lower-severity advisories above; it does not establish a high-severity package advisory. #1 requests two reviewers rather than the configured one. The other findings concern missing fuzzing and an in-progress best-practices badge.

Sources: npm registry advisory service, GitHub Advisory Database/Dependabot, and upstream Git tag objects. Vulnerable-range checks include affected major lines; no latest-version/major-drift survey was performed. Routine version changes remain Renovate-owned via #2828.

    Control-Plane Integrity

    • Parsed 31 workflows and two composite actions. All 146 third-party references have full commit SHA pins and version comments; all 17 distinct upstream version tags dereference to the configured commits.
    • Loaded all 74 production scripts/*.ts modules under Node 24.21.0 strip-only execution. Used the actual import smoke test, not just Vitest, following docs/solutions/runtime-errors/node-strip-only-typescript-2026-04-18.md.
    • Effective workflow/job write permissions are operation-specific. App-token scope contract tests pass, following docs/solutions/best-practices/repo-wide-app-token-scope-contract-2026-10-10.md. The private-leak workflow intentionally avoids shared cache-restoring setup; the Quartz build uses its isolated upstream installation.
    • Wiki authority requires a recognized writer, exact data head, and the same nonempty repository identity. Privacy checks remain ahead of promotion. Live main protection enforces administrators, strict required checks, stale-review dismissal and last-push approval; force pushes/deletions are disabled. The active data ruleset limits bypass to the App integration. No guardrail was changed.

    Code Quality

Passed pnpm bootstrap, pnpm check-types, pnpm lint, pnpm test, native production imports and git diff --check. Tests: 102 files; 5,354 passed; three todo. Expected negative-test diagnostics are not live incidents. No mechanical correction was necessary, and no knowledge/metadata file was modified.

    Needs Human Attention

    1. Existing prompt/configuration follow-up — reuse #3979. PR fix(workflows): update fro-bot/agent to v0.119.2 and pass the wiki handoff path inline #3980 fixed the Action pin and inline wiki handoff; current files also use client-id and no longer supply omo-providers. Remaining exact paths: .github/workflows/fro-bot.yaml, especially shared AGENT_NOTES and OBSERVE_INTRO, and scripts/fro-bot-workflow*.test.ts. Shared notes still request wiki persistence despite Remediate's explicit prohibition; Observe still describes same-job persistence despite the separate trusted ingest job. Smallest safe follow-up: make persistence guidance job-specific and test the rendered contracts. Never write guarded paths from Remediate. Separately inspect redacted effective OpenCode configuration/initialization for the unavailable workflow guard; the local opencode.json alone cannot establish secret-backed effective configuration. Do not repeatedly retry the unavailable guard or widen credentials. No workflow edit was eligible here: current Main is green and this run established no failing-run root cause in those files.
    2. CodeQL surplus reads. .github/workflows/codeql-analysis.yaml:27–31 grants packages: read for internal/private packs and actions: read for private-repository operation. This repository is public, and .github/codeql/codeql-config.yml declares no such packs. These are surplus read scopes, not excess writes. Smallest follow-up: verify pinned CodeQL Action requirements and remove unnecessary reads in a reviewed change; validate workflow YAML/action references and execute CodeQL. Preserve security-events: write and the analysis coverage. This passing workflow was not modified under the failing-run-only boundary.
    3. Security posture findings. Keep lower-severity package work with Renovate; do not lower the audit gate or manufacture an emergency bump from Scorecard Uplift sync-settings workflow #9's rule severity. Scorecard feat: set default settings #1's reviewer-count recommendation requires an operator policy decision; this run cannot alter branch protection. Fuzzing/badge adoption exceeds mechanical autohealing scope. Existing alerts/dashboard retain the root causes, so no duplicate issue was opened.

No new durable learning requires wiki persistence from this invocation.
