Extension refuses JSON-RPC requests whose id is a string #81

Problem

morphir-python 0.4.2 (extension/python/v0.4.2, wasm sha256 10acafa0…) refuses JSON-RPC requests whose id is a string. JSON-RPC 2.0 allows string ids, so a host that uses them cannot talk to this guest.

How it was found

While building the generic guest profile for the shared MEP kit (finos/morphir#1129). The kit runner uses numeric request ids because of this, and that is recorded in the profile's design.

To check

  • Whether extension/python/v0.5.0 and later behave the same. This was observed on 0.4.2 only.
  • Where the refusal comes from: this extension, or the SDK transport it uses (morphir-extension-sdk). If it is the SDK, other Rust guests will behave the same, and the fix belongs there.

Expected

Any JSON-RPC 2.0 id type (string or number) is accepted and echoed back in the response.
