Issue Subcategory:
Form field has no label
User Experience:
Without a visible label identifying the field's purpose, users may not be able to tell what information to enter, and may enter the wrong data or be unable to complete the field. People with cognitive or reading-related disabilities are likely to be affected most
Repro Steps:
Launch Winforms app > Input > Observe the issue.
Actual Result:
The combo box is announced as "Test Category" by assistive technologies, but no corresponding visible label is displayed on the screen.
Expected Result:
A visible label such as "Test Category" should be displayed and associated with the combo box so that both sighted and screen reader users receive consistent information about the control's purpose.
How to Fix:
Provide a persistent visible label for each field, associated with <label for="fieldId">. Do not rely on placeholder text alone, since it disappears on input. If extra constraints apply, provide instruction text associated with aria-describedby. If your project uses a design system or component library, its text-field component may already pair a visible label with the input — confirm in its accessibility documentation that the label is wired up correctly
Environment details:
Application Name: WinForms .NET Runtime
OS: Windows 11 Enterprise Insider Preview 26300.8276
