What

  • New address. The website and every install command now name https://herdrweb.dev/. The Pages custom domain is already live (Let's Encrypt cert, HTTPS enforced), and GitHub redirects every devswha.github.io/herdr-web-ui/ path there with a 301, so curl -fsSL https://devswha.github.io/herdr-web-ui/install.sh | sh and the PowerShell one keep working (checked: they end on https://herdrweb.dev/install.sh). herdrapp.dev 301s to herdrweb.dev with the path kept. Changed: READMEs, INSTALL.md, guide, development and CONTRIBUTING docs, installer comments, scripts/plugin.ts, the Settings link, the film end card, the Windows install workflow, and the page's canonical, og and sitemap URLs. Past CHANGELOG entries keep the old address.
  • Simplified Chinese page. site/zh/index.html is the page in Simplified Chinese at /zh/. The header links 中文 ⇄ EN, and both pages carry hreflang alternates. build-site.ts now fills in the figures, unlinks missing media and writes the FAQ structured data for both pages, and lists both in sitemap.xml. The clip captions come from README.zh-CN.md; the mock agent screens (Codex prompt, task titles) stay in English, as the agents print them.
  • Front-page copy for v0.4.0. README (en/ko/ja/zh-CN) and the page now mention the customizable key bar (feat(terminal): customize the mobile key bar #508), typing the next message while an agent works (feat(chat): simplify send controls and queued follow-ups #520), and patch notes per update (feat(updates): show a release's notes before it is installed #535, feat(updates): tell a release as patch notes, and what an update brought once it runs #560); the comparison's "Also" row mentions the four UI languages. The ko/ja/zh-CN READMEs gain the Windows install section, which only the English one had, and the Korean README the voice-input line.
  • Header width. With the language link, the header now fits from 316px up on both pages: under 560px the star chip hides (the stats strip right below shows the same count), and the nav hides under 960px instead of 900px.

Not in this PR

Checks

  • bun run check fast: 1776 pass, 0 fail.
  • bun scripts/build-site.ts: exit 0; _site/zh/index.html gets its figures and FAQPage data, and sitemap.xml lists both pages.
  • Both pages served from _site/ in headless Chromium at 390 and 1440px: no 4xx, no page errors. Horizontal overflow measured every 2px from 300 to 1200px: none on /zh/, none on / from 316px up.

…esh the front-page copy

- The website and the install commands now name https://herdrweb.dev/. GitHub Pages
redirects every devswha.github.io/herdr-web-ui/ path there, so old commands keep working.
- site/zh/index.html is the page in Simplified Chinese at /zh/, linked from the header both
ways, with hreflang alternates; build-site.ts fills in and checks both pages and lists
  both in sitemap.xml.
- README (en/ko/ja/zh-CN) and the page describe v0.4.0: the customizable key bar, the next
message queued while an agent works, patch notes per update. The translations gain the
Windows install section, and the Korean README the voice-input line.
- Header fits from 316px up with the language link: the star chip hides under 560px, the
  nav under 960px.

Priority: ➖ Normal

Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~25 minutes

Change: Feature

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to e74eb

No actionable issue remains in the selected change; it is mergeable after normal checks.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to dfd8a

Installer downloads now use a new domain. Installation behavior and deployment permissions are unchanged, and no introduced security weakness was established. Domain ownership, routing, and compatibility redirects remain unverified.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — If an attacker could control installer responses, the commands would execute attacker content with the invoking user's authority on each installing machine, or with the Windows validation runner's authority. Exposure is not confined to website rendering. Such control has not been established.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The Windows harness accepts an HTTPS installer URL and directly passes the fetched response to Invoke-Expression. This execution pattern predates the PR. The workflow keeps contents-read permission and disables persisted checkout credentials; the PR changes the delivery hostname, not those authority controls.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — The shell installer's user-local ownership, preconditions, Node checksum verification, replacement ordering, failure behavior, and cleanup are unchanged across the supplied revisions. Non-atomic replacement and lack of an explicit concurrency lock are pre-existing properties, not demonstrated PR regressions. The unchanged Windows harness cleans its temporary reference environment variable and stops only a server it started.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Close the migration proof gap by verifying custom-domain ownership and deployment association, enforced HTTPS, legacy redirect destinations, and served installer content against the intended deployment. Record how installer delivery can be restored if domain routing fails.

Merge-lane review of #610 (head e74eb02).

Checked: origin/main is already in the branch. Live GETs: https://herdrweb.dev/, /install.sh, /install.ps1, /sitemap.xml and /demo/ answer 200; /zh/ answers 404 until this deploys. Every devswha.github.io/herdr-web-ui/... path tried (/, /install.sh, /install.ps1, /zh/, /demo/) answers 301 to herdrweb.dev with the path and query kept, and so do herdrapp.dev, www.herdrweb.dev and http://herdrweb.dev. curl -L on the old install.sh and install.ps1 ends on the new host with the script. No old address is left outside released CHANGELOG sections. The updater (git tags from origin) and remote bundles (GitHub Releases manifest) never used the Pages host, so installed apps keep updating. bun scripts/build-site.ts exits 0: both pages get their figures, hreflang en/zh-CN/x-default, canonical/og URLs and a 7-question FAQPage, the sitemap lists both, and no local reference is missing. Both pages were looked at in Chrome at 316, 390 and 1280 px: no overflow, the language link shows on both, no broken images. bun run check fast: 1891 pass, 0 fail. A Codex astra adversarial pass found no defects.

Fixed: the CHANGELOG entry sat under the released 0.4.1; it is now under Unreleased (CodeRabbit's thread).

Lows, not fixed here:

  1. The old root and install.sh 301s point at http://herdrweb.dev/..., one plain-http hop before the http→https 301; install.ps1 already points at https. That is GitHub's edge cache (the cached responses were about 21 minutes old; Pages reports https_enforced: true), not this repo, and should clear once the cached redirects expire. curl -fsSL of the old command still ends on https and gets the right script.
  2. The zh page keeps two app labels in English, "Send now" and "New worktree", where the app's Chinese UI shows 立即发送 and 新建工作树.
  3. Only the zh page sets og:locale; the en page has neither og:locale nor og:locale:alternate.
  4. scripts/build-site.ts's header comment and the demo regression scripts still serve _site under /herdr-web-ui/. That still works, since the paths are relative, but it no longer matches where the site lives.

Independent review of e74eb02 (lead session; lane rev-610 wrote e74eb02 on top of the building session's commits).

Verdict: merge.

  • The code changes are strings and comments only: install.sh and install.ps1 change the comment that shows the install command, scripts/plugin.ts the command it prints, the Settings link its address, and the Windows install workflow the installer URL it fetches. Nothing in server/, shared/ or src/lib uses the Pages host, so the updater (git tags) and the remote bundles (Releases manifest) are unaffected and installed apps keep updating.
  • I checked the redirect chain myself: https://devswha.github.io/herdr-web-ui/install.sh → 301 http://herdrweb.dev/install.sh → 301 https://herdrweb.dev/install.sh → 200. The plain-http hop comes from GitHub's cached redirect, not this repo (install.ps1 already redirects straight to https); curl -fsSL of the old command still ends on https with the right script.
  • e74eb02 moves the CHANGELOG entry from the released 0.4.1 to Unreleased.
  • The lane built the site, looked at both pages at 316, 390 and 1280 px, and ran a Codex astra pass with no defects. The four Lows in #610 (comment) are fine as follow-ups.

Both required checks and CodeRabbit are green on e74eb02, the thread is resolved, and the branch contains main.

Release v0.4.2 from `main` at cc9701c. Stop before merge: the maintainer
merges and runs the release.

## What's in it
- Version 0.4.2 in `package.json` and `herdr-plugin.toml`.
- CHANGELOG: `## [Unreleased]` cut into `## [0.4.2] - 2026-10-09`,
compare links updated, the two #598 entries given their PR link. Outside
contributors are credited as GitHub lists them as authors.
- `release-summaries.json`: 0.4.2 patch notes in en/ko/ja/zh (new 5,
improved 5, fixed 4).
- `REMOTE_BUNDLE_VERSION` raised to `"22"`: the remote-PC bundle ships
`server/`, `shared/` and `dist/` (`scripts/build-remote-bundle.ts`), and
all three changed since remote-v21 (#543, #438, #599, #600, #601, #605
and others). A `remote-v22` tag is needed on the merge commit before the
release.

## PRs since v0.4.1
#598, #524, #599, #603, #600, #601, #605, #438, #610, #607, #543

## Whole-release review
Codex astra (gpt-6-astra) over `v0.4.1..cc9701c`, looking for cross-PR
problems: **no release blocker**. One Medium, verified by reading the
code and left as a follow-up: in an OpenCode chat, "Show the whole
output" fetched while a tool is still running can keep the older text if
the tool later rewrites its output, because the output reference carries
no revision. It affects only what is displayed until the row remounts;
the fix needs a new protocol field, so it is out of scope for a release
PR.

## Checks
- `bun run check fast`: green locally (1928 pass, 6 skip, 0 fail;
typecheck, build, generated types).
- `server/release-notes.test.ts` and `scripts/release-notes.test.ts`: 27
pass; `bun scripts/release-notes.ts 0.4.2` renders the notes.
