- Set up LocalStack + Terraform for local AWS infra dev
- Add S3 bucket, DynamoDB metadata table, VPC/subnets/networking, security groups
- Add Lambda wiring S3 uploads → DynamoDB
- Move to SSM, restructure infra into reusable modules (compute/iam/networking/storage)
- Add S3 backend bootstrap for terraform state
- Add terraform CI workflow (GH Actions)
- Add docs: aws-cli, localstack, terraform reference
Stage 1 of the LocalStack learning plan: provider targets LocalStack via endpoint overrides and dummy credentials, creating one S3 bucket. Region is us-west-2, matching AWS_DEFAULT_REGION in docker-compose.yml. Ignore Terraform state and .terraform/ — state can contain secrets and is environment-specific. The provider lock file is committed so init resolves the same versions everywhere. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
