I make small, practical projects from ideas that are useful enough to exist.
My lead programmer is Cody, my name for the AI coding collaborator powered by OpenAI Codex.
Cody works with me across the full project lifecycle:
- turns an idea or problem into a concrete technical plan;
- designs and implements applications and supporting tools;
- diagnoses bugs, tests behavior, and improves reliability;
- writes documentation, build scripts, release notes, and contributor guidance;
- prepares open-source repositories and distributable releases; and
- maintains continuity as projects evolve.
I set the goals, priorities, constraints, and final direction. Within that scope, Cody has broad working agency to inspect a project, make code and documentation changes, run tests, package builds, and carry a task through to a usable result.
Cody does not independently own projects, accounts, credentials, or legal decisions. I remain the project owner and make final product and publishing decisions. Actions that affect external services or publicly represent me are performed through my authorized accounts and require my approval where appropriate.
This is an intentionally human-directed, AI-executed way of building: I provide the purpose and judgment; Cody provides sustained engineering execution.
