Problem

Sync the markets collapse package §3/§4b to the deployed ingress (pr-auto-review group + ci-failure-analyst pin)

From the issue: The markets collapse PR (combsmith/markets#513) deploys an agent-ingress.yml that differs from the ratified package §3 (merged in #2039) in TWO places. The package is the source of truth and the pilot's evidence trail, so it must be updated to match what actually ships. The maintainer accepted both deviations.

Risk

Low — 3 file(s) changed; no CI- or runtime-critical paths touched.

Test plan

Tests added/updated: tests/agent_ingress_markets_package.bats,tests/fixtures/agent-ingress/markets-pinned-reusables/ci-failure-analyst-reusable.yml. Verification: bash scripts/dev-lead-lint.sh (shellcheck --severity=warning) ran pre-commit; the bats suite runs in CI.

Rollback

Revert this PR. No non-revertible side effects (no tags, migrations, or external state).

Monitoring

This PR's CI checks (Lint + bats) are the success/regression signal.

Closes #2171

The documented concurrency group uses the PR number for PR events and the check_suite or workflow_run event ID for non-PR events, with 'none' as fallback. The package updates the ci-failure-analyst pin and related behavior and conformance notes. The regression test checks the ordered concurrency branches and cancellation setting. The fixture records the new pin and snapshot date.

QA Lead — test-risk advisory

Risk tier: LOW. This PR only changes a doc, one test, and one fixture in this repo. The behaviour that actually ships is the ingress file in markets#513, and the existing bats guards still check the §3 block that this package extracts.

What I'd shore up (highest leverage first):

  • Nothing tests that §3 matches the deployed file. The PR's main claim is "§3 matches what markets#513 ships", but no test checks it, so the two can drift apart again without anyone noticing. Add a trimmed snapshot of the deployed agent-ingress.yml under tests/fixtures/agent-ingress/, at least its jobs.*.concurrency and jobs.*.uses. Then compare it against the extracted §3 with yq. That keeps the check offline and deterministic, like the existing pinned-reusable snapshots.
  • Tighten the new per-event-slot test. The regex checks the order of the branches but not that 'none' is the last fallback. Nothing stops the old ready-check / sha- / format( wording from coming back. The cancel-in-progress assertion also skips [ "$status" -eq 0 ]. These are cheap negative assertions to add.
  • The snapshot holds up. I checked ci-failure-analyst-reusable.yml@b585102…: it declares no concurrency: and only the CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN secret. The collision result in §4a still holds, and the snapshot's header-only refresh is fine.
  • Optional: the [LSP re-pilot placeholder] TypeScript / JavaScript (typescript-language-server / tsgo) — broodly / google-app-scripts / markets #1126 guarantee is that two PRs sharing a commit never cancel each other. A string-shape test can't prove that. If the guarantee matters long-term, a small test that evaluates the group expression against sample payloads would prove it. This doesn't block merge.

Escalate? no

Advisory only — I comment, I do not change code. Ground: BMAD Test Architecture
(bmad-tea v1.19.0). Opt out on this item with the qa-lead:hands-off label.

Code Review

This pull request updates the agent-ingress-collapse-markets documentation and tests to transition the pr-auto-review concurrency group to a per-event slot using event IDs, preventing cross-PR cancellations. It also bumps the ci-failure-analyst reusable workflow pin. The review feedback suggests improving the indentation of the YAML concurrency group expression for style consistency and adding a status check assertion for the yq command in the new BATS test to ensure robustness.

CodeAnt PR Risk: Low Risk

  • The PR appears safe to merge; the documentation and fixture reflect the stated markets ingress pin and per-event concurrency keys.
  • The added Bats test checks the concurrency-key order and guards against regressions to shared SHA or run-ID keys.

Existing test changed without justification — human attention needed

The fix-reviews pass changed, deleted, or skipped existing test(s) to go with its fix: tests/agent_ingress_markets_package.bats. A previously-passing test that disagrees with a change is a reason to question the change, not to edit the test, so dev-lead did not push this pass (#2013).

If the test really is wrong, a human should make that call, or the fix should carry a Test-Change-Justification: commit trailer that cites the reason (for example, the review comment that asked for it). Auto-merge has been disabled.

Agent reasoning
**Phase 1b — issue comments**
I posted one `informational` disposition on each of these five bot comments, since none carried a finding:
- **Qodo:** a trial-ended billing notice.
- **CodeRabbit summary:** no actionable, nitpick, outside-diff or architecture sections. I noted the exact-assertion suggestion in the reply.
- **Codex:** a review status summary.
- **CodeAnt:** a Low Risk assessment.
- **SonarCloud:** quality gate passed with 0 new issues.
I left the `don-petry`, `donpetry-bot` and persona comments alone. They are our own automation.
There is one thing you may want to look at. A `dev-lead-test-tamper` comment says an existing test changed without justification. I didn't act on it.
Files changed: none.

Risk: LOW
Reviewed commit: d36357aacdbee1ffde709f9b0cfc7e33f9a032cc
Review mode: triage-approved (single reviewer)

Summary

Docs, test and fixture sync of the markets collapse package (§3/§4a/§4b/§5b/§8c) to the ingress markets#513 deployed. Low risk, and the content is accurate. Escalating for two reasons: CI has not run on the head commit d36357a, and §3 is not byte-identical to the deployed file, which acceptance criterion 1 of #2171 requires.

Linked issue analysis

Closes #2171. Each acceptance criterion against the code:

  1. §3 matches the deployed agent-ingress.yml exactly — NOT MET. I extracted §3 at d36357a and diffed it against petry-projects/markets@main:.github/workflows/agent-ingress.yml (feat(pr-review): agent_ref input for pinned self-checkout (#497/#506) #513 merged 2026-10-10T01:16Z). Both files are 184 lines, but 4 lines differ by indentation (lines 99–102, the pr-auto-review concurrency.group body). §3 indents them 10 spaces and the deployed file uses 8, matching the verbatim block in Sync the markets collapse package §3/§4b to the deployed ingress (pr-auto-review group + ci-failure-analyst pin) #2171. The commit fix(reviews): indent pr-auto-review group expr caused this by following a low-priority Gemini style nit. The expression evaluates the same either way, since whitespace inside ${{ }} does not matter, so this is not a runtime problem. But the issue explicitly asks for "zero differing lines" and "byte-identical".
  2. bats passes in CI — passed on the previous head fa98fab, not run on the current head (see CI status).
  3. Only the package doc and its test/fixtures change — met (3 files, no ADR changes).
  4. Refs, not Closes, for [Phase 3] Collapse the first repo's Class-1 event-driven stubs into agent-ingress.yml and rename the required checks #1729 — met ([Phase 3] Collapse the first repo's Class-1 event-driven stubs into agent-ingress.yml and rename the required checks #1729 is not referenced).

The §3 changes required by the issue are present: the per-event group and the ci-failure-analyst pin b585102…. So are the §4a table and §4b rewrite (with the #1126 rationale), the §5b pin-bump note, and the follow-ups list. I checked the reusable at b585102…: it declares no concurrency: and requires only CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN, so the claim that the §4a collision result is unchanged holds. The deployed markets file carries the same pin.

Findings

Blocking

  1. CI has not run on the head commit. d36357a (a merge of main into the branch) has only cubic and CodeRabbit check results. No workflow runs exist for it: no Lint, bats, ShellCheck, SonarCloud, validate-ingress-if or validate-caller-inputs. mergeStateStatus is BLOCKED. Gate 2 (all CI checks green) cannot be met until the required checks run on this SHA.
  2. §3 is not byte-identical to the deployed ingress (Sync the markets collapse package §3/§4b to the deployed ingress (pr-auto-review group + ci-failure-analyst pin) #2171 AC 1). The 4 pr-auto-review group lines are indented 2 spaces deeper than in markets main. Fix: de-indent docs/initiatives/agent-ingress-collapse-markets.md §3 lines github.event.pull_request.number through || 'none' to line up with pr-auto-review-${{ (8 spaces), as in the issue's verbatim block. The new bats assertion flattens newlines to spaces, so it still passes either way.

Non-blocking / informational

  • template-drift failed on the previous head fa98fab (it is skipped on main). Once CI runs on the new head, check whether it is required and whether it reproduces.
  • An earlier dev-lead-test-tamper comment flagged an edit to an existing test. In the current diff, tests/agent_ingress_markets_package.bats has additions only (one new @test) and no existing assertions are changed, so the flag no longer applies.
  • QA-lead advisory, optional: no test diffs §3 against a snapshot of the deployed file. That missing check is exactly why the drift in finding 2 got through. Consider adding a trimmed fixture and a yq comparison.
  • All 6 review threads are resolved. No CHANGES_REQUESTED reviews and no open human questions.
  • No secrets in the diff (docs, a bats test and a YAML fixture header only). The run_secret_scanning MCP tool is not available in this run.

CI status

Head d36357a: only cubic · AI code reviewer (success) and CodeRabbit (success, rate-limited) are reported. No GitHub Actions workflow runs exist for this SHA, so required checks (Lint, bats, SonarCloud, and others) are missing. On the previous head fa98fab, everything passed except template-drift (failure), including bats, Lint, ShellCheck, SonarCloud, CodeQL, gitleaks, validate-ingress-if and validate-caller-inputs.

Reviewed commit: d32d804adbc9b616f5247b19b7838f828bde59fa

Summary

Docs, test and fixture sync of the markets collapse package (§3/§4a/§4b/§5b/§8c) to the ingress that markets#513 shipped. Both blocking findings from the prior review (d36357a) are fixed: CI now ran on the head, and §3 is byte-identical to the file #513 deployed. The content is correct and low risk. The only thing holding back approval is bookkeeping: one review thread is still unresolved, even though the head commit contains exactly the change it asked for.

Linked issue analysis

Closes #2171. Acceptance criteria, checked against d32d804:

  1. §3 matches the deployed agent-ingress.yml exactly — MET (for the file feat(pr-review): agent_ref input for pinned self-checkout (#497/#506) #513 shipped). I extracted the §3 YAML block (184 lines) and ran plain diff (not -w) against petry-projects/markets@5fe86cbc:.github/workflows/agent-ingress.yml, the feat(pr-review): agent_ref input for pinned self-checkout (#497/#506) #513 merge commit. There are zero differing lines. The 4-line indentation drift from the last review was fixed in d32d804 (+4/−4, those four lines only).
  2. bats passes in CI — MET. bats, validate-ingress-if and validate-caller-inputs all pass on d32d804.
  3. Only the package doc and its test/fixtures change — MET. 3 files, no ADR changes.
  4. Refs, not Closes, for [Phase 3] Collapse the first repo's Class-1 event-driven stubs into agent-ingress.yml and rename the required checks #1729 — MET. [Phase 3] Collapse the first repo's Class-1 event-driven stubs into agent-ingress.yml and rename the required checks #1729 is not referenced.

Issue items (§3 group + pin, §4a table, §4b per-event rewrite with the #1126 rationale, §5b pin bump, fixture PINNED-USES) are all present.

Findings

Prior-review findings (d36357a)

  1. CI had not run on head — RESOLVED. The full suite ran on d32d804 (see CI status).
  2. §3 not byte-identical (4 indented lines) — RESOLVED. d32d804 de-indents exactly those 4 lines, and §3 now diffs clean against the markets#513 file.

Blocking (metadata only, no code change needed)

  1. One review thread is still unresolved (docs/initiatives/agent-ingress-collapse-markets.md:234, the Gemini indentation nit and the maintainer steer to revert it). The maintainer's requested change (de-indent the four pr-auto-review group lines, change nothing else) is exactly what d32d804 contains. But the dev-lead harness retracted its earlier reply as not-on-ref at 13:27Z, before d32d804 was pushed, so the thread was left open. Gate 4 requires no unresolved threads, and the main ruleset enforces required_review_thread_resolution: true, so merge stays blocked either way. Fix: resolve the thread. Its request is verifiably on the head commit.

Non-blocking / informational

CI status

Head d32d804: all checks pass (Lint, bats, ShellCheck, shellcheck, actionlint, CodeQL ×2, SonarCloud (quality gate passed, 0 new issues), gitleaks, AgentShield, validate-ingress-if, validate-caller-inputs, caller-stub-freeze, and the other validators) except template-drift (failure). That failure comes from repo-template's dev-lead.yml drift, has nothing to do with this PR, and the check is not required. dev-lead / dispatch|ci-relay|resume were cancelled (orchestration jobs, not checks). Dependency-audit jobs that don't apply were skipped.

  1. §3 matches the deployed agent-ingress.yml: MET for the file #513 shipped. I re-extracted the §3 YAML block (184 lines) and diffed it against markets main now. The only 2 differing lines (§3 lines 145/147, pr-review@pr-review/stable versus @pr-review/v1-stable) come from markets#521, which landed after #513 and is outside #2171's scope (#2171 names only the pr-auto-review group and the ci-failure-analyst pin). The pr-auto-review group and the ci-failure-analyst pin b585102… match byte-for-byte.
  2. bats passes in CI: MET (bats, validate-ingress-if and validate-caller-inputs all pass on d32d804).
  3. Only the package doc and its test/fixtures change: MET (3 files, no ADR changes).
  4. Refs, not Closes, for #1729: MET (#1729 is not referenced).

The §4a table, the §4b per-event rewrite (with the #1126 rationale), the §5b pin-bump note, the §8c State A correction and the fixture PINNED-USES header are all present.

Findings

Prior-review findings (cycle 2, same SHA)

  1. One unresolved review thread (docs/initiatives/agent-ingress-collapse-markets.md:234, the indentation nit): RESOLVED. The thread is now marked resolved, and the de-indent it asked for is on the head commit. All 6 review threads are resolved. There are no CHANGES_REQUESTED reviews and no open human questions.

New findings

None.

Non-blocking / informational

  • Follow-up, outside this PR's scope: markets#521 moved pr-review to @pr-review/v1-stable. A later sync should update §3 lines 145/147, drop that line's # DEFECTIVE PIN — see §5 marker, and close the matching §5 / Known-follow-ups entry.
  • template-drift fails, but this PR did not cause it. The failure is petry-projects/repo-template's .github/workflows/dev-lead.yml drifting from the standards baseline (5b5adde ≠ df3236d), plus agent-ingress.yml missing from the template. This PR touches no templates or standards. The check is not in the main ruleset's required status checks (SonarCloud, CodeQL, AgentShield, dependency-audit / Detect ecosystems, duplicate-decl-gate).
  • The new bats @test only adds lines (no existing assertion is changed). It pins branch order, the 'none' fallback, the absence of head_sha and run_id, and literal cancel-in-progress: true, so the earlier dev-lead-test-tamper flag no longer applies.
  • The check_suite.id / workflow_run.id (and PR-number) namespace overlap that Codex raised is documented in §4b as negligible. It mirrors the deployed file, which §3 has to match.
  • No secrets in the diff (docs, a bats test, a fixture header). The run_secret_scanning MCP tool was not available in this run.

CI status

Head d32d804: all checks pass (Lint, bats, ShellCheck, shellcheck, actionlint, CodeQL, SonarCloud (quality gate passed, 0 new issues), gitleaks, AgentShield, duplicate-decl-gate, validate-ingress-if, validate-caller-inputs, caller-stub-freeze and the other validators) except template-drift (failure). That failure comes from repo-template drift, has nothing to do with this PR, and the check is not required. dev-lead / dispatch|ci-relay|resume were cancelled (orchestration jobs, not checks). Dependency-audit jobs that don't apply were skipped. All required checks are green.
