Conversation
Node.js security release 2026-10-21 fixes CVE-2026-111497, an out-of-bounds write in the Brotli decoder that permits remote code execution when the process decodes attacker-controlled Brotli input. Advisory: https://nodejs.org/en/blog/vulnerability/october-2026-security-releases Pins updated to the patched release of the same major line and OS variant, including image digests where the pin used a digest. Merging alone does not patch running workloads: rebuild and redeploy are required. Co-Authored-By: pegasus/glm-5.3 <noreply@cloudwalk.io>

Context
Node.js security release 2026-10-21 fixes CVE-2026-111497: out-of-bounds write in
the Brotli decoder, remote code execution when the process decodes attacker-controlled
Brotli input (CVSS 9.8). Advisory: https://nodejs.org/en/blog/vulnerability/october-2026-security-releases
Affected: 22.x < 22.23.4, 24.x < 24.22.1, 26.x < 26.12.1. This repo pins an affected version.
Approach
Bump the pin(s) to the patched release of the same major line and OS variant.
Image digests updated to the patched images, resolved from the registry
(mirror.gcr.io serves the same digests). No other changes.
Changes:
.tool-versions:nodejs 24.18.1->nodejs 24.22.1(1x)Validation
Risk & rollout
Low: patch-level bump inside the same major line.
Merging alone does not patch running workloads: rebuild and redeploy required.
