Important

Merge only after Android SDK 7.3.0 is published to Maven Central. This documents a release that isn't out yet. Merge it together with #71 (the getDefaultNetworkSanitizer() pages), which is held for the same release.

Release notes for Android SDK 7.3.0 (bugsee/bugsee-android b8db9ee2e, 136 commits since v7.2.0). Every entry was checked against the PR descriptions and the shipped code at that commit.

Changes

  • docs/sdk/android/release-notes.md: a new ## 7.3.0 section in the 7.2.0 format: Security first, then New features, Fixes, Privacy and Compatibility.
    • Security: the internal log carried host request URLs (with credentials and query strings) and user values in 7.0.0-beta1 through 7.2.0 (bugsee-android#186), with its known limits.
    • Behaviour changes are called out in admonitions: report handlers now run off the main thread; logException(null) now reports a simulated exception grouped by call site; the pending-report limits are on by default; anomaly issues with an explicit URL port regroup once.
  • configuration/overview.mdx: rows for the new options (MaxDataSize, MaxPendingReports, MaxPendingReportAge, DetectAndReportExitLowMemoryBackgroundAsError). Also covers Bugsee.getHostLaunchOptions(), enum names in the launch map, and ReportHandlerCallbackTimeout = 0 no longer holding up a report indefinitely.
  • issue-detection/exits.mdx: a note on the background low-memory option.

No "latest version" reference to 7.2.0 exists on the install pages. They use <plugin-version> placeholders or say "replace the version with the latest 7.x release", so nothing there changed.

Owner review: revised in c893738 so each item states only what changed for the customer (the fixed symptom, the new API or option, or the behaviour change to act on), with no implementation details, internal names or test figures.

Verification

  • npm run build: passes, with no broken-link or anchor warnings.
  • npx cspell on the changed files: 0 issues.

Adds the 7.3.0 section to the Android release notes: the internal-log
security fix, absent report outputs, crash-payload accounting, pending-report
limits, the background low-memory option, the public network sanitizer,
video fixes, and the behaviour changes (report handlers off the main
thread, logException(null), pending-report limits on by default).

Also documents the options new in 7.3.0 in the configuration reference and
on the exits page, Bugsee.getHostLaunchOptions(), enum names in the launch
map, and the 60 s report-handler chain cap.

Removes implementation details, internal names and test figures from the
7.3.0 section and from the option descriptions added for 7.3.0, per owner
review. Each item now states the fixed symptom, the new API or option, or
the behaviour change a customer must act on.
