Summary

  • Each startup-data-kit skill now has the agent work with the user to set up and customise a maintained Bruin template. Before, the skills only described the templates.

  • workflow.md is the same in every skill. It runs these steps:

    1. Check that Bruin is installed and its MCP server is connected.
    2. Work inside the user's git repo.
    3. Confirm the warehouse.
    4. Choose a template.
    5. Set up credentials in .bruin.yml, using ${VAR} references, never pasted values.
    6. Work out what to ask from the template as it is today, not from a fixed list.
    7. Customise the template.
    8. Run it over a limited date range first.
    9. Reconcile the numbers against the source together with the user.
    10. Hand off.

Answers are recorded in a decisions.md beside the pipeline.

  • SKILL.md now holds only what's specific to the domain: which templates to consider and their caveats, what usually matters, and what to reconcile against.

  • analysis.md holds the guidance for answering questions, moved out of SKILL.md.

  • check.py fails if the workflow.md copies drift apart.

  • Risk for these five skills is now approval-required.

Test plan

  • ./tests/check.py: 17 skills, 0 errors, 0 warnings
  • Template names and caveats checked against bruin init --help (v0.11.765) and the template READMEs
  • CI passes

Each skill now has an agent work with the user to install and customise
a maintained Bruin template, instead of only describing it.

- workflow.md, identical in every skill: check Bruin and its MCP server,
work in the user's git repo, confirm the warehouse, choose a template,
set up credentials, then derive questions from the template as it is
today, customise, run bounded, reconcile, hand off. Answers go in a
  decisions.md beside the pipeline.
- SKILL.md keeps only the domain: templates to consider and their
caveats, what usually matters, what to reconcile against.
- analysis.md holds the question-answering guidance moved out of
  SKILL.md.
- check.py fails if the workflow.md copies drift apart.
- Risk is now approval-required, since setup writes files and runs
  pipelines.
