Flight forward?

first of all, thank you so much for sharing your talent. I have been testing the flight control and it's very satisfying however, After turning left/right and then try to recover by moving the mouse cursor back, the ship's flying direction doesn't recover to horizontal flying and thereforem, it's not flying forward precisely. My level has sectors with different cordinates. I found that after flying for a while, the ship circled back. Did I do something wrong? thanks again.

Without more information, a video, the hierarchy of how you set things up, I can't really give any useful information. Compare against the example ship, and see if there's discrepancies. I don't remember exactly how this works, but it's possible you tried to take a shortcut somewhere and because something in the hierarchy is different, that's messing up the math in the scripts that assumes a specific hierarchy. And also, make sure the example ship still works. If that's broken then maybe there's something wrong with the project's control setup or maybe with this repo itself.

I was referring to your example. see the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6el1nrzmKeo , when I keep moving mouse cursor to the right, the ship yaw/”bank-to-turn” to the right, that feels good. but when cursor stops, shouldn't yaw intent = 0 → roll target = 0° → ship damps roll and levels out → flies straight? In your example, that doesn't seem to be the case. See the angle between the ship and the horizon line. Seems the camera levels out to align with the ship but the ship's rotation never recover to horizontal. I never played Freelancer but does it have the same behavior? Maybe the purpose is just to fly towards where the mouse cursor points since in space, there is no horizon line as reference so it doesn't really matter? My apology if my question sounds stupid :-) I like the flying so much
