Base API setup and URL helpers src/api/Base.ts, src/api/Base.js.flow, src/api/__tests__/Base.test.ts |
The new Base class defines request types, initializes API and upload helpers, validates items and permissions, and builds URLs. The Flow documentation describes regional metadata host routing. Tests update construction and URL fixtures. |
Lifecycle, permissions, and response handling src/api/Base.ts, src/api/__tests__/Base.test.ts |
The class aborts requests on destruction and handles success and error callbacks. Tests cover destruction, validity checks, and error callback values. |
HTTP helpers and request execution src/api/Base.ts, src/api/__tests__/Base.test.ts |
The class adds GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, and request dispatch methods. Tests check request payloads, query parameters, and behavior after destruction. |

Merge Risk:
Minimal · up to 7be41
-
The previously conflicting host documentation is corrected, and no actionable merge-blocking issue remains after normal checks.
Security architecture risk:
Low · up to f844e
-
The shared client handles request routing, permissions, and destruction, but the examined behavior appears unchanged by this migration. No new security issue was established. Downstream type compatibility and broader security coverage remain uncertain.
Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.Security review details
-
Security Blast Radius
- inferred — The relevant exposure is API requests made through configured hosts and dependent client methods. The examined migration does not establish a new request destination or broader caller authority.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
- observed — Permission validation remains caller-owned in the examined subclasses, while Base forwards supplied request details to Xhr. These client-side checks do not establish server-side authorization.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
- observed — Destruction cancels transport work and prevents callbacks after the instance is marked destroyed. Shared per-instance callback state remains a pre-existing limitation for overlapping requests.
Hardening Proposals
- proposed — If callers can overlap requests on one instance, associate callbacks and error metadata with each initiating request rather than shared instance fields. This addresses a pre-existing limitation, not a verified PR-introduced issue.

data param in successCallback type is object. Can we define it as object here as well?

q: Both functions return Error, but return types are string and any. I'm curious if we can safely update any to string or other appropriate type?

Can we use ElementsXhrError type here? It's a bit wider than AxiosError<any>, but we definitely can get rid of anys here and remove comment in the start of the file
