Summary

Two commands that make the agent easier to drive without the manager.

  • ethagent check: one read-only report.
    • It lists every value the manager's Token Values shows: agent ID, network, registry, owner, agent URI, snapshot, metadata and agent card CIDs, ENS name, custody, Vault, operator, last saved, pending publish and transfer state. It also shows any unconfirmed transaction.
    • It then lists what needs attention, taken from the manager's Needs Attention. Each item names the headless command that fixes it.
    • Exit codes: 0 when nothing needs attention, 4 when something does.
    • It reads the chain through ETHAGENT_RPC_URL when that is set.
  • ethagent skills: list skills, their visibility and whether the Agent Card publishes them.
    • --public <name> and --private <name> rewrite the skill's frontmatter and the agent card.
    • --delete <name> previews until --yes. It takes a checkpoint first and prints the ethagent rollback cp:<id> --yes that brings the skill back.
    • Everything stays local until ethagent save.
  • Hints. Messages that sent people to the interactive manager now name the headless command. That includes save's pending-publish note, which now says to run ethagent save again with the owner wallet.
  • ENS subname delete stays in the manager on purpose. ens --unlink clears the records instead. The README says so.

Docs: README (common tasks, commands table, exit codes, skill format), --help, commands/ethagent.md and the session and harness guidance. Agents may run check and skills freely. They change skills only when the user asks.

Testing

  • npm run typecheck and npm test (758 pass) in a clean env.
  • New test/cli/checkAndSkills.test.ts:
    • check: values, attention items and their fixes, the RPC override, refusals.
    • skills: listing and drafts, visibility and the agent card, and delete → rollback restoring every file. These run against a real vault in a temporary HOME.
  • Smoke-ran --help and the no-identity path for both commands.

Live check after merge (read-only, safe): ethagent check and ethagent skills on your machine.

One read-only report with the identifiers the manager's Token Values shows
and its Needs Attention items, each with the headless command that fixes it.
Exits 4 when something needs attention.

Visibility changes rewrite the frontmatter and the agent card. Delete previews
until --yes, checkpoints first, and names the rollback that brings it back.

Messages that sent people to the interactive manager now name the command
that does it, including save's pending-publish note.
