the idea is simple: if you want to larp your git contribution history for a certain date range, you can use this tool. ideally used for private repos, as commit messages are repeated for each date.
(i really just wanted to build a simple and fun cli project to learn go...)
use with caution. i haven't put deep thought into all of the edge cases, as this was just a simple project i wanted to do to familiarize with building cli apps in go. and plus, there's probably much better commit automation tools out there, if for some reason you want to larp that.
as prerequisites, you need go and git.
you can install the tool directly and run it without building the binary:
go install github.com/arvingarciabtw/gitlarp@latest
# sample command
# for each day in the specified date range, it will
# make three commits with the specified commit message
