Skip settings in push all and pull all when only an API key is configured #2083

Closed

Description

@ChiragAgg5k

Tracks PR #2080.

Plan

Goal: Let appwrite push all and appwrite pull all work in a CI setup where the CLI only has an API key (appwrite client --endpoint ... --project-id ... --key ...). Today both fan-outs start with project settings, which need a console session, so consoleClient() returns ErrConsoleNeedsSession and the whole run stops before any other resource.

What changes (PR #2080):

  • templates/cli/internal/cmd/session.go: new skipsConsoleOnly() helper that recognises ErrConsoleNeedsSession, prints a one-line "Skipping settings" warning, and tells the caller to carry on.
  • templates/cli/internal/cmd/pushall.go and templates/cli/internal/cmd/pullall.go: the runPushActions / runPull fan-outs call the helper and skip only that action; any other error still stops the run, and an explicit push settings / pull settings still fails as before.
  • templates/cli/internal/cmd/fanout_test.go: tests for the skip under an API key, for other errors still aborting, and an end-to-end push all --force / pull all --force run with a key-only prefs.json against a mock server.

Remaining steps: None beyond the linked PR; it is the full change. It reaches users with the next CLI release from sdk-generator.
