SUBSTATE-1: observer-relative finiteness without a finite-total-carrier requirement #1007

Open

Description

@amaybaum

Planning status (rules: AGENTS.md §A.45)

Priority

Top of the research backlog (owner decision, 2026-10-30).

Owner's foundational decision — 2026-10-30 (supersedes the original finite-total-S default as a general requirement)

Adopt for the OI research programme: finiteness belongs to the observational interface of an embedded observer, not to the total microscopic substratum. The general formulation must not require |S|<∞. A finite S remains a valid restricted model and proof premise, but is not the universal OI axiom or an ontic assertion derived from embedded observation.

For a specifically bounded observer/interface O, write a finite-valued accessible map π_O : S → V_O with |V_O|<∞; the full carrier S may be finite, countable or continuous. A normalized prior/measure, measurable observation, and well-defined dynamics must be supplied to construct conditional statistics when S is infinite. An unbounded succession of finite records may encode unbounded cumulative information; finiteness of instantaneous resolution does not by itself impose finite all-time histories.

Status distinction: This is an owner's choice of foundational framework, not a new theorem proving infinite-carrier physical adequacy. Main Lemma 1's finite-visible statement remains the central observational claim, subject to its own finite-area/mode assumptions; the finite-total extension is no longer imposed on the general framework. Finite-carrier theorems are preserved under explicit A1_finite hypotheses until separately generalized or qualified; no proof is weakened by silently dropping its premise.

Required follow-through: #1009 proofs/measure controls; #1016 finite-horizon/all-time countercontrol; #872 continuum and projective consistency; #866/#914 physical instruments; #1003/#983 link and action sourcing; #1014 finite interface/horizon entropy; #1015 minimum-change manuscript/source dependency audit. Research evidence is not permission to assert P-indivisibility, gauge uniqueness, Yang–Mills, full QM or GR for arbitrary infinite carriers. Keep #1005/#918 separate. No manual workflow dispatch, F/E, ready-for-review, merge, or direct main/manuscript edits under this decision.

Historical note: The original question and checklist below are retained as the initial research proposal. The question of whether total microscopic finiteness is required is settled negatively by owner direction; the open scientific questions concern extending actual theorems and physical realizations.

Status

Owner-adopted observer-relative finiteness principle; physical extensions remain research-only. Guiding research-only draft #1009, with parallel workstream ledger, boundary/GR issue #1014 and minimum-diff audit issue #1015. This issue tracks a research direction; no manuscript theorem, premise, physics-status promotion, workflow dispatch or merge is authorized.

Historical research question (now resolved at principle level)

Only finiteness of the visible sector is a theorem (Main Lemma 1). Finiteness of the whole substratum is a posit: the minimal recurrent bijective representative (Main:62, :113; A1 at Substratum:92).

Should each lattice site's finite alphabet Z/qZ be replaced by an internal state space with infinitely many sub-states? The observer would still resolve only finitely many states, by Lemma 1. Three options to compare:

  • (a) finite alphabet q (current);
  • (b) a countably infinite alphabet;
  • (c) a continuum, for example a compact group or manifold with an invariant measure, so the dynamics is a measure-preserving bijection.

Option (c) has the same shape as standard lattice gauge theory: a countable set of sites, with continuous (uncountable) values on each link.

Why it is worth testing

  1. Yang–Mills contact. Continuous link variables are what lattice Yang–Mills uses, and what Balaban-type constructive methods treat. The discrete-alphabet vs continuous-group gap would close structurally (context: PR research: OI ↔ constructive QCD bridge and gauge-action non-uniqueness #1003; SM §2.7, §6.5).
  2. Operational completion. Main's operational obstruction (Main:554) is stated for a fixed substratum of N < ∞ states and does not apply to a continuum. Precedent: the Kochen–Specker (1967) continuous hidden-variable model reproduces a single qubit exactly.
  3. Partial anticipation in the corpus.
    • Deep hidden-sector cardinality is gauge at leading order (GR:142).
    • Several results hold for every q.
    • The induced-measure concentration is a large-q statement (SM §2.7, §6.5).

Preregistered controls (§A.29): results the revision must preserve

The revision passes only if each of these survives, or its loss is stated and accepted in advance:

  • Lemma 1: finite visible resolution and a finite discreteness scale ε.
  • The finite-horizon equivalence S ⇔ D ⇔ Q_fb (Main §3.4), with measure-preserving maps in place of permutations.
  • P-indivisibility.
    • The finite-recurrence route (Main:139) uses exact periodicity. A continuum gives only Poincaré recurrence, so this route must be replaced or dropped.
    • The readback route (Main:174) must survive.
  • Gauge-group selection (Substratum Theorem 23 and Lemma 23.0, stated under A1).
  • Area-law boundary scaling and the ħ gap equation with a finite per-mode entropy σ (GR §3). Sub-states must stay decoupled from the boundary count, or σ diverges.

Required independent payoff (hard-to-vary test)

Removing the Main:554 obstruction is the problem this revision is built to fix. It does not count as a prediction.

Candidate payoff: with a continuous internal space and its natural invariant measure, does the induced gauge dynamics and measure come out as Wilson / Yang–Mills? This is the open step at SM §6.5 and SM:118.

Reject the variant if the continuum can be tuned to reproduce any gauge action or any visible statistics. A hidden continuum that fits everything explains nothing.

First steps

  1. Literature search before any construction. Kochen–Specker; Bell's continuous hidden variables; 't Hooft's cellular-automaton programme; Koopman–von Neumann; ergodic theory of measure-preserving maps; Wilson lattice gauge theory; Balaban. Also check whether the Barandes stochastic–quantum correspondence extends to non-finite configuration spaces.
  2. Fix the class precisely:
    • finite or countable sites;
    • internal space K with invariant measure μ;
    • φ a measure-preserving bijection;
    • the visible map a finite partition (Lemma 1).
  3. Walk the controls list. For each preserved result, record: survives as is / needs a new proof / fails.
  4. Smallest decisive probe for the payoff. The induced plaquette measure for K = U(1) or SU(2) from a uniform internal measure, compared with the q → ∞ limit of the current §6.5 construction. Exact where possible.

    Active work has started on guiding draft PR #1009 (head b40ba681, base f6989a27).

    The first probe covers the recurrence route under infinite sub-states.

    • Real-type sub-states: recurrence holds only for observables blind to the non-recurring modes. The single-site observable gives a P-divisible rooted family.
    • p-adic sub-states: they preserve finite recurrence exactly, but they are inert under linear dynamics.

    The working condition is that the non-recurring part of the hidden dynamics has no influence on the visible statistics.

    Coordination rules

    1. Parallel work only where independent: A, C's ambient gauge controls, D's projective definitions, E's entropy audit, F's read-only textual scope audit can proceed without waiting for B's native source. Integrating B+C into a single physical model waits for a pinned carrier and permitted observer interface; it cannot be inferred by joining two separate existence toys.
    2. Each lane hands off a pinned SHA, source path, exact theorem/probe output, allowed axioms/premises, independent countercontrols, reviewer disposition and a table of survives / new proof / fails / open. Distinguish proof, conditional theorem, exact finite probe, toy and physical prediction.
    3. Explicit synchronization gates: (i) exact-head CI/axioms and independent reviews of Research (WIP): SUBSTATE-1 — internal sub-states and visible recurrence #1009, (ii) single-ontology native sourcing with complete public records, (iii) Wilson-vs-squared-action and classical-wave alternatives, (iv) fixed-horizon/limit consistency and finite boundary entropy, (v) independent scientific minimum-diff sign-off before any manuscript scope changes.
    4. Preserve old branches, earlier proofs, historical receipts and negative findings. Update this parent issue with cross-lane conflicts rather than silently making one lane's assumptions global.
    5. Governance: Research (WIP): SUBSTATE-1 — internal sub-states and visible recurrence #1009 research-only/draft, no manual workflow dispatch, F/E designation, ready/merge, main edits or manuscript changes. Existing publication PR audit + minimal source fixes: post-#982 manuscript scope #1005 and Introduction Introduction paper: reconcile sources and integrate scoped theorem recoveries #918 stay separately gated.

    First scientific integration question: Can one and the same pinned microscopic model yield non-flat gauge holonomy, a finite boundary-visible factor, and physically sourced selectable measurement interactions, while surviving all competing ambient/classical models? Until yes, finite-visible vs infinite-total is a consistent research direction, not a completed OI-to-QM/YM proof.

    SUBSTATE-1 parallel execution checkpoint — concrete results, not promotions

    Coordinated investigation now has three new bounded mathematical countercontrols and one read-only source audit, all tracked without merging or manuscript changes:

    1. A/D finite-visible recurrence: independent exact integer-matrix checks for the Research (WIP): SUBSTATE-1 — internal sub-states and visible recurrence #1009 free 1-D wave factor passed ring lengths L=3…12 (including M≠0, M²=0, annihilating difference readout, and rank-two time-one pair). This is a finite regression in support of the paper-level all-L Fourier argument, not independent acceptance of the universal proof. A separate countable full-support invariant probability counterexample, with finite observed alphabet but no synchronized visible return, is written in #872 comment 6526240419.
    2. E/D boundary/history distinction: research draft #1016, exact head b23ab626eaa239b3567e17d606f76a417fa5a58d, contains one mathematical note and one exact Python probe. Three Haar-preserving invertible maps on the same uncountable hidden carrier with one visible bit yield decoupled static, iid/Markov streaming, and a rooted exact-return/indivisible process, respectively. The finite surrogate agrees through n<q and differs at 2q, so finite-horizon and all-time observational equivalence diverge. Locally reproduced checks: nine exact finite-prefix horizons, seven long-horizon finite-order checks, one toggle rooted-matrix check. Automatic CI 41079412005 queued, no independent review or release acceptance. GR's simultaneous finite entropy is not contradicted by cumulative public histories.
    3. B/C physical-sourcing control: #866 comment 6526292899 proves a trivial controlled-register lift of any two classical reversible T_s into one map F(x,s)=(T_s x,s) and identifies the missing physically sourced setting-change needed to compose them. Noncommutation of abstract T_s is not full quantum operational control. #1003 comment 6526315429 proves a conditional site-only gauge-link rigidity: full free-transitive local gauge equivariance forces loop conjugacy classes independent of microscopic site fields. Exact Z/5 square regression 625/625 agrees; this is not an H-link or full OI no-go.
    4. F original manuscript inconsistency: #1015 comment 6526276390 records exact minimal prospective fixes for Chapter 1's finite-system wording and GR §3's misattribution of total S finiteness to Lemma 1, with no source edit. Finite-cycle measure extension requires another scope check.

    Still blocked: no one sourced, single-microscopic-rule model that both produces nonconstant physical Wilson-loop observables and physically executable reusable paired measurement controls. Neither infinite microcardinality, finite visible resolution, passive/active classical toys, nor a finite-horizon surrogate discharges the full OI–QM/YM synthesis. Need independent mathematical review of each scoped proof, exact-head CI, source controls and cross-lane integrated candidate.

    Current authoritative heads: guiding draft #1009 85c20ea49f679b25b8a320cf3fcd9c01586c23a5 (automatic run 41074405806 still queued at last check); boundary draft #1016 as above. No new reviewer submissions seen on #1009. Both remain draft/unmerged, no F/E, manual workflow dispatch, ready, main, manuscript or publication artifact modifications.

    Implementation of foundational direction in PRs — checkpoint

    Owner decision now recorded in PR descriptions: guiding SUBSTATE research #1009, finite-boundary countercontrols #1016, gauge/YM research #1003. New independent draft source dependency audit #1017 at exact head c0c79601953a9705f866dbbc669027f9ad8a58e8 identifies primary-paper and Introduction wording conflicts, scopes finite-S theorems and gives minimum replacement sites. #918 and #1005 have received coordination comments and are not modified.

    The principle is adopted; its infinite-carrier physical adequacy is not proved. Finite total-S remains a conditional branch premise where already consumed by recurrence/gauge/reconstruction theorems. No manuscript edits, main changes, manual workflows, F/E, readiness or merges.

    Observer-relative foundation — scope audit update

    #1017 exact head e75d00c135fda23f88811370cd01f8b6b484d01a documents the smallest corrections required by the owner's decision not to assume finite total S. Beyond Main:46, GR:142, chapter 1 and #918, it found a substantive glossary mislabel ("Axiom 2 (Finiteness)" instead of recurrence of differentiation), Chapter 5's finite-substratum-as-universal phrasing, and Main's unsupported finite-total-S→energy/conservation dependency (two exact mathematical countercontrols). All finite-carrier theorems remain conditional and untouched. Independent review request pending; no manuscript changes or publication/merge authorization.

    Foundational dependency: a finite observed map π:S→V does not imply equal-size hidden fibers or a product state space S≈V×H. A three-state → two-visible-label counterexample and preservation instructions for Main's existing finite-product theorem are recorded in #1017. This is a review-required scope finding, not a change to the owner-adopted observer-relative finiteness principle.

    SUBSTATE-1 decisive countercontrol: reversible infinite tape, C4 memory, P-divisible for all time

    Research-only exact mathematical counterexample for #1007 / guiding draft #1009. Checked 2026-10-30 against #1009 head `a02e197debc51fc5cc2e5794ed1a5d677577438d`. This is not a modification or certification of the manuscript, not a physically sourced OI quantum instrument, and not an F/E/readiness/merge request.

    Exact autonomous model and normalized state

    Let (\Omega=\mathbb Z/3\mathbb Z\times({0,1}^2)^{\mathbb Z}), with state ((p,(A_k,B_k)_{k\in\mathbb Z})). Use uniform phase (p\in{0,1,2}), and independent fair binary pairs ((A_k,B_k)) for every integer (k), giving a normalized product probability measure (\mu). Set (C_k=A_k\oplus B_k).

    The measurable finite observable at phase (p) is the bit (\pi(p,\mathbf{A},\mathbf{B})=(A_0,B_0,C_0)p). The bijection (T) advances the phase: at (p=0,1) increment (p) and retain the tape; at (p=2) reset phase to 0 and shift the bilateral block tape by one (((A_k,B_k)\mapsto(A{k+1},B_{k+1}))). The inverse decrements phase and shifts the tape back at the wrap. This map preserves (\mu), including the phase. It is a reversible uncountable hidden-carrier construction with one visible bit and a common invariant normalized initial state.

    To express it in the independently prepared visible-root + common hidden-prior form, take (V={0,1}) and (H={0,1,2}\times{0,1}\times({0,1}^2)^{\mathbb Z\setminus{0}}), with (x\sim\mathrm{Bern}(1/2)) independent of (h=(p,z,\text{other blocks})). Recover block zero by

    • (p=0): ((A_0,B_0)=(x,z));
    • (p=1): ((A_0,B_0)=(z,x));
    • (p=2): ((A_0,B_0)=(z,z\oplus x)).

    This is a measure-preserving bimeasurable bijection (\Psi:V\times H\to\Omega). Conjugate the update by (\Psi); the resulting time-homogeneous dynamics on (V\times H) remains a measurable, measure-preserving bijection with the same hidden prior at both roots.

    All-time result (paper-level exact proof, not Lean-certified)

    For any two distinct times (s<t), the observed bits (X_s=\pi(T^s\omega)), (X_t=\pi(T^t\omega)) are independent and uniform. Conditional on each phase, this follows because ((A_k,B_k,A_k\oplus B_k)) are pairwise independent fair bits within each block and distinct blocks are independent; averaging over phases preserves their joint law. In particular, for every integer (t\ge1),
    [
    \Gamma_0=I_2,\qquad
    \Gamma_t=J_2:=\begin{pmatrix}1/2&1/2\1/2&1/2\end{pmatrix}.
    ]
    Thus (\Gamma_t=\Gamma_s\Lambda_{s,t}) with row-stochastic (\Lambda_{0,t}=J_2) for (t>0), and (\Lambda_{s,t}=I_2) for (1\le s<t). The rooted two-time family is P-divisible for all finite times. No global identity return (\Gamma_L=I) occurs for (L>0).

    Nevertheless the three-time visible law is not Markovian. For (X_0,X_1,X_2), the initial phase equals zero with probability (1/3), making the aligned triple ((A_0,B_0,A_0\oplus B_0)); at the other two phases the triple contains independent bits from distinct blocks. Therefore the exact joint probability is (1/6) for each even-XOR-parity triple, (1/12) for each odd-parity triple. Consequently, for every (a,b):
    [
    \Pr(X_2=a\oplus b\mid X_0=a,X_1=b)=2/3,\quad
    \Pr(X_2=a\oplus b\mid X_1=b)=1/2.
    ]
    The conditional law changes by (1/6) despite a common present state, giving C4 history readback on a two-step accessible window. The precise conditional mutual information is
    [
    I(X_0;X_2\mid X_1)=1-h_2(2/3)\simeq0.081704165946\text{ bits}>0.
    ]

    OI diagnostics / scope

    • C1: YES (hidden-to-visible influence: the next observable bit depends on the hidden block/phase).
    • C2-structural: YES (the local pair is retained over the aligned three-read cycle and mediates the history-sensitive conditional; the full map is invertible). C2-slow is not established or required by this countercontrol.
    • C3: YES (hidden tape has more than enough capacity for positive accessible conditional memory).
    • C4: YES by the explicit (1/6) next-law gap at order 1, not by assuming the observer was selected because it is P-indivisible.
    • No additional physical claim: no explicit 3-D OI wave update, horizon entropy, sourced measurement-intervention menu, Yang–Mills action, full quantum instrument structure, or proof of a causal write-then-read mechanism beyond Main's weaker C4 meaning. It is a mathematical dynamics-and-interface counterexample, not a native physical realization.
    • Finite-S theorem preserved: on a finite carrier, recurrence forces a later (\Gamma_L=I) and obstructs P-divisibility when (\Gamma_s) is non-permutation. Here (S) is infinite and no such global visible return occurs, so there is no contradiction.
    • Universal representation survives: the exact finite-horizon (S\Leftrightarrow D\Leftrightarrow Q_{\mathrm{fb}}) claim applies to these finite visible words. It does not imply stochastic P-indivisibility or full operational QM.

    Validation: independently executed exact-rational Python enumeration of all finite visible words at horizons 1 through 15 under the stationary phase/product prior. All joint probabilities normalized; for every checked (1\le t\le K), (\Pr(X_0=a,X_t=b)=1/4), hence (\Gamma_t=J_2); every length-three probability matches (1/6) or (1/12) according to parity. The 15-step exercise is a regression only; the unconditional pairwise-independence argument above supplies the all-time theorem. No Lean proof was added or independently reviewed.

    Proposed scientific disposition: the strong reading “every C1–C4 observer is P-indivisible” is FALSE for the general invariant infinite-carrier class, absent an extra hypothesis (e.g. common visible return/revival or additional physical restrictions that actually exclude this model). Preserve the exact general finite-horizon representation theorem; keep P-indivisibility conditional and attached to the specified rooted interface. Ask independent reviewer A to verify the construction/proof and reviewer B to check that no physical measurement assertion is being smuggled in. No manuscript or main change, no workflows dispatched, no grades or readiness/merge modifications.

    Two coordinated tracks and integration gate — owner-directed continuation

    Research checkpoint: 7c4e45f723711b6d2c512b492a1dfa899a3c0e4c, child of accepted 3cb09a15. The prior scoped A/B acceptance and green CI 41118151283 stay attached to 3cb09a15; the new candidate requires its own review/CI. Keep draft.

    A — revive observable distinctions without total finiteness

    The mathematical implication is already kernel-proved: CausalReadback.C4r (CausalReadback.lean:65–68), tv_mul_le (:96–113) and c4r_implies_pIndivisible (:134–144). These abstract finite-visible matrix results assume no hidden carrier, hidden finiteness or global return. The open tasks are sourcing the revival and composing actual measurable finite-cell probabilities with the real row-stochastic theorem.

    The new cubic-wave-revival.md and cubic_wave_revival_probe.py supply a bounded candidate: side-three unnormalized cubic wave update F(u,p)=(Au−p,u) on a 54-dimensional torus, Haar prior, distributed row v(x,y,z)=h_x h_y, h=(2,−1,−1). Exact algebra gives vA=0, (v,0)F²=−(v,0), (v,0)F⁴=(v,0). A half-circle bit has Γ₁=J₂ and Γ₂=swap almost everywhere, so rooted TV revives 0→1 at steps 1→2. The full dynamics has infinite order through its uniform-mode eigenvalue 3+2√2.

    The author probe and an independently implemented root integer calculation agree; normal/optimized outputs match. A single-site readout does not revive on this pair. Finite grids have boundary corrections: N=4 gives no revival, N=8/16 give distances 1/2 and 3/4; the Haar proof treats endpoints as null. This is a mathematical torus/readout extension, not an available native physical measurement or new Lean certification.

    B — source selectable measurements

    A separate source audit confirms the retained native-Y gate remains BLOCKED. Its nonlinear F₂³ update and preparation differ from A's scalar torus model. q10.A can carry the operand under certain E/N source laws but is private, B/D jointly retain it, and the one-tick whole-V read is masked.

    Independent bounded replay of the actual local formula V=p XOR H(q10 XOR r XOR k) confirms all 512 fixed-(p,q10,r) uniform-key laws are uniform on V. Fixing the key makes q10→V bijective in all 512 fixed-remainder cases. This confirms the existing obstruction, not a general no-go.

    The smallest untouched transport target named by the retained inventory is q10 at L+1 → declared public port 5 at L+79, at least 78 native ticks (native_vread_v15/REPORT.md:77–83). Its next test must first reduce the actual causal cone exactly, then compute complete raw public histories, failures and the declared outgoing two-slice carrier jointly, retaining complement/source/bank distributions and arrivals L+77/L+79. Controls: sign erasure, fixed-key positive and uniform-key negative controls, B/D disclosure and carrier disturbance. No undeclared readiness pin, private read or second E/N preparation may be relabelled a selectable measurement. A large actual-scale run is not launched here.

    Integration

    A common mechanism remains open: A and B use different models and priors; A's distributed 27-site decoder is not a permitted B pointer. A joint construction must pin one update, prior, root preparations, setting actuator, timing and record projection. Revival concerns a specified current output; a complete transcript retaining the root can remain perfectly distinguishing throughout. Keep full transcript/carrier bookkeeping while identifying exactly which reduced family is tested. Revival plus classical setting choice alone does not establish full quantum operations.

    Preserve the exact finite-horizon equivalence and finite-recurrence theorems with their original premises. No manuscript edits, F/E designation, special dispatch, readiness or merge.

This excludes neither individual periodic points nor individual Poincaré recurrence. Public access, preparation actuation and selectable measurement remain unsourced.

    Track B: independent ACCEPT at 917d8992654b2950883f06dc4759da9dd290966a for the conditional cone/pad reduction. The reviewer checked the source geometry, unique-axis arbitrary-background proof and original-time bank/horizon clauses. Remote checker blob f478cb76 matches the independently replayed file; plain/-I/-I -O pass identically, and a wrong-time horizon L+78 mutation fails normally and optimized with no PASS.

    The exact 78-tick structural backward cone contains 328,719 current-slice and 316,394 previous-slice triples. These are structural supersets. At the first possible q10 arrival to p5, H*=L+79, the original-time own-bank coordinate K=(0,S+H*,0) has a unique axial first arrival. It lies outside the other public records through H*, q10's input cone, and the declared readiness/source exceptions (minimum readiness/input-cone slack 156). Conditional on the inherited independent-uniform original bank/complement law explicitly covering this key, p5(H*) is a permutation of K and is uniform given the operand and earlier records. Fixing the key supplies the positive conditional-transport control.

    Decision: the first-arrival raw symbol gives no incremental operand information under that prior. It is unnecessary to simulate the entire 78-tick marginal to recover this fact. The complete transcript is not independent of s—the old q9 record contains s—and the outgoing carrier may remain correlated with K. Extending the prospective public-record horizon and bank-prior scope has not been adopted as a physical premise. This is no general transport/instrument no-go.

    Next bounded task: declare a concrete outgoing two-slice operational carrier and target, trace all key dependencies and already permitted key-disclosure records, and test the joint record/carrier congruence on success and failure branches. A uniform raw outcome can still have useful carrier correlations. Any required private read, readiness pin, altered initial ensemble or selector is an explicit added resource. Only after this gate can a reusable two-setting experiment be claimed.

    Integration remains open: scalar torus revival and nonlinear native-Y use different updates/priors. No argument combines them into one source merely by identifying their readouts.

    Ordinary predecessor CI 41130180145 was still in progress at the last check. Fresh successor PR CI 41131017076 was queued. Scientific acceptance is scoped as above; neither green CI nor these reviews authorizes readiness, F/E designation, merge or manuscript promotion. No special workflow or large native replay was launched.

    Joint record/carrier fibre analysis — independent ACCEPT

    Reviewed head: 580048383de9ad0883c43f44fe19bad8c46ddf98; input 917d8992. Added only native-port5-record-carrier-fibres.md and native_port5_fibre_probe.py. Existing Track A and cone files are unchanged.

    Fix the same prospective H=L+79 cut and uniform original-time key κ. Let C be every other initial variable, W the other permitted records (κ-independent by the cone result), and Y=f_C(κ), with each f_c a permutation. On a positive-mass read-enabled branch,
    P(C∈dc,κ=k,Y=y|W=w)=μ_w(dc)·1[y=f_c(k)]/8.
    Thus observing Y leaves the posterior of C unchanged, including any earlier operand determined by C.

    Key disclosure is a different question. P(κ=k|W=w,Y=y)=μ_w{c:f_c(k)=y}. A public inverse exists exactly when f_c^{-1}(y) is constant almost surely on the public-record fibre. A chronological inverse supplied with private microscopic context is not automatically an accessible decoder. Uniform records can coexist with either complete key disclosure or no key disclosure; the exact controls exhibit both.

    Pin the diagnostic full global two-slice cut C_H=(U_H,U_(H−1))=G_H(C,κ). Its enabled conditional law is the pushforward of μ_w by c↦G_H(c,f_c^{-1}(y)). This is an exact reduction of the kernel problem, not an evaluated native operational-carrier distribution. Global reversibility retains the operands/key, while public access to them remains separate. Uniform Y does not imply independence from C_H: Y is a coordinate of that cut; the full-joint/product TV is 7/8.

    Earlier terminal failures record bottom/no attempted read and retain their conditional μ_w×Uniform(8) law. The synthetic terminal flag in the checker validates this bookkeeping only; it is not a native failure-rate calculation. A future native acceptance flag depending on C and Y can reweight the private fibres, so accepted and failed outcomes must both be retained.

    Specific availability stop: on the accepted old phase, the whole-q9 record already contains s. Later transcript recovery of s alone therefore does not advance measurement sourcing. The missing physical task is native delivery/actuation on an explicitly transported operational carrier. The retained L+2 target cannot be reused at H by decree. No carrier dictionary/reusable boundary at H, actual post-read acceptance/update map, or pair of independently selectable native setting maps is supplied by the retained sources. Changing E/N initial laws is a preparation change, not such a setting pair. Consequently no two-setting native joint comparison is claimed.

    Independent reviewer ACCEPT on this exact SHA: posterior formulas independently checked under a nonuniform private-context prior, full-cut TV identity checked, source anchors checked, and remote probe blob 5e5422c1 replayed plain/-I/-I -O identically. An independent mutation attempting a read after terminal failure fails normally and optimized without PASS. Root normal/optimized replays also pass.

    Next research input is a fixed, source-compatible operational carrier at H and actual allowed update/setting maps; then evaluate its quotient pushforward and repeatability on every record branch. Longer routes are not explored here. Ordinary successor CI 41131779771 was queued at the last check. Keep draft/unmerged; no manuscript, F/E, special workflow or readiness action. These conditional paper/exact-control results do not supply a native quantum instrument or combine the distinct scalar-torus and nonlinear native-Y models.

    Carry-over from PR #1012 (Deutschian carrier revision). The PR is being closed without merge on the owner's approval (#1015 c.6624266088). Its branch, commits and discussion are kept.

    Source: branch research/oi-deutschian-carrier-framing-20261030, head 027ec21a7d0067eec3d0f3d2749952c4c1a11286, base f6989a27. Unreviewed: no independent review exists. Its CI run, 41073727624, tested a synthetic merge with the main of 2026-10-30.

    Unique content to carry forward. It is recorded here as one integration obligation of this Issue (§A.45 rule 6). None of it is on main, and none appears in #1016 or #1017.

    1. Finite-index theorem. verification/programmes/substratum/OBSERVER-RELATIVE-FINITENESS.md §2 (:52–90). For any S, a finite menu of deterministic complete-record protocols on a bounded window yields at most ∏_p|W_p| record classes. The note states that the quotient need not be a congruence of the dynamics.
    2. Countercontrols, in the same file:
      • §3 (:92–150):
        • (A) prefix observers on {0,1}^ℕ: each is finite, there is no uniform bound, and jointly they separate every tape;
        • (B) Bernoulli(θ): binary outcomes with uncountably many exact response laws;
        • (C) a finite two-time interface that is not closed under the evolution.
      • §4 (:152–174), the horizon qualification: a finite-area event horizon is not universal.
    3. Positive control, DEUTSCHIAN-CARRIER-REVISION.md:59–93. An inert normalized enlargement (S×D, T×id, μ⊗ν, π∘pr_S) preserves the all-time passive record law for an arbitrary normalized D. This is prose only; no new kernel proof is claimed.
    4. Negative control, DEUTSCHIAN-CARRIER-REVISION.md:94–133. No fixed finite permutation reproduces the all-time law of the Bernoulli shift. This is the general form of Research (WIP): SUBSTATE-1 finite-boundary / infinite-hidden countercontrols #1016's 2q discriminant.
    5. Finite regressions for items 1–2: bounded_observer_controls.py and OBSERVER-RELATIVE-FINITENESS-RESULTS.json.

    Not carried forward

    Possible next step (not authorized here). A new minimal evidence PR from current main. It would add items 1–5 only, for example beside #1016 in verification/programmes/substratum/continuous-substates/ or in a sibling directory, cite #1012's SHAs as provenance, and need independent review and CI. Items 1–4 bear on #1014's horizon question and on #1055 (A1).

    LA-EQUAL / frozen MR-1 N5: read-only proof assessment, 2026-11-04 (PR-AUDIT-1 #1088).

    A separate, model-authored textual review is recorded in draft #1109 (head 5602d9b0673af17634bdad4780e369c2a17c6fbd). This is a read-only analysis, not a signed/authenticated human review; no simulations, Lean builds, scientific computations or frozen-record edits were made.

    Three verdicts:

    1. Mathematical proof: PARTIALLY VERIFIED. Under the joint product prior, the triangular first-front argument supports conditional uniformity/independence of the later Tail. GAP: exact LA-EQUAL of the complete history additionally requires setting equality of the pre-tail joint law. The prior port-5 result proves equality of a future kernel conditioned on the earlier public history; CP-PRECUT tests a small fixture, not the complete original preparation. A full all-history conditioning/combination proof is not established by the examined text.
    2. Five hypotheses: PARTIAL. H-prior (joint law) and H-access (candidate passive/non-writing read) are supplied, not derived from OI; H-inventory completeness is a declared sourcing assumption. H-rule and H-torus apply only on their stated fixed-model/window scope.
    3. Frozen MR-1 N5: PARTIALLY SUPPORTED as a historically reported scoped LA-EQUAL / EMPTY outcome under those hypotheses, not independently established as a full joint-history equality theorem.

    This is a proof-gap finding, not a refutation of LA-EQUAL. Do not use N5 as an established premise, do not change the frozen MR-1 record, and do not promote any physical-measurement or OI↔QM claim. The proof gap remains a scientific question under #1007 and its MR-1 dependency under #866. It is not a reason to leave the administrative #1088 audit indefinitely open once the review record is retained.

    Sources and precise reasoning: #1109's new LA-EQUAL-REVIEW.md, based on later-access-preregistration.md, later-access-result.md, native_later_access_probe.py, native-random-setting-test.md, history_v11/REPORT.md, and frozen MR-1 preregistration.md:109–111.

    Owner decision on the LA-GAP re-review (#1111 c.6643489504). This is an administrative record.

    amaybaum, Claude Code session chat, 2026-11-04:

    I accept both independent re-review verdicts: ACCEPT WITH CHANGES. The writers may complete the specified corrections under their existing authorizations.

    The mathematical distinction is important and should be preserved exactly:

    • Conditional proof: LA-EQUAL follows under the stated sufficient hypotheses, including H-pre.
    • Counterexample: The displayed equation alone does not guarantee equality.
    • Physical status: No physical derivation has been established.
    • Verification status: The geometric checks have not been rerun, so the broader result remains unverified.

    Approve replacing "minimal" with "sufficient" and explicitly listing all required inputs. No further mathematical expansion is needed unless the focused review identifies an error.

    … No merges, scientific promotions or new computations are authorized.

    Six-PR audit, finding 1: the LA-EQUAL status record on main versus #1111 (recorded as a finding only). This is an administrative record under owner ruling #1031 c.6666613671. It changes no scientific status and starts no work.

    Source. Audit #1031 c.6665380893, "Scientifically material discrepancies", item 1. The audit was read-only and model-authored, at main f051916a.

    Finding

    Limitations

    • Theorem 2 concerns the all-zero D′. That law is not the original preparation, and no source specifies an original law with non-uniform V5 (PA:37).
    • The geometric inputs P1–P6a were never re-run. Of the Theorem 2 table, the first review recomputed all 8 rows by hand, and the re-review recomputed only row x = 100. PC-1 and PC-2 are specified but not run, and they are not authorized.
    • Until the evidence is integrated and reviewed on main, research(#1007 LA-GAP): LA-EQUAL pre-cut equality and forward-kernel audit (WIP / UNVERIFIED) #1111's results are not established there (§A.46 items 1 and 7), and none may serve as a premise.

    Remedy (owner ruling #1031 c.6666613671)

    For the material LA-EQUAL item, choose evidence integration rather than an unsupported status-only correction. Use the existing #1111 PR as the preferred landing vehicle. Prepare its scoped reviewed mathematical evidence for integration and correct the mutable LA-EQUAL status record once that evidence can properly support the statement.

    A separate writer carries out that integration through #1111. This record does not do it.

    The corrected conclusion must keep four items apart (same ruling):

    1. the all-zero-preparation counterexample, which shows that the displayed H-prior equation alone is insufficient;
    2. the original sourced preparation, with its retained-bank condition;
    3. conditional LA-EQUAL equality under the sufficient hypotheses;
    4. the continued absence of a native physical derivation.

    It must not claim setting dependence under the original preparation. The ruling reads: "Do not describe the counterexample as proving setting dependence under the original preparation."

    Not authorized by this record: computation, theorem promotion, N5 or LA-EQUAL promotion, changes to frozen records, and merge. The ruling states: "Those records authorize no additional scientific computation or theorem promotion."

    Six-PR audit, finding 5 (PR #1009, SUBSTATE-1): "Independent ACCEPT" labels on the branch versus the status repairs on main. This is an administrative record under owner ruling #1031 c.6666613671. It changes no scientific status and authorizes no work. #1009's obligation rows are on this Issue (its NC-1 definition is also in #866, O-SET). #1074, where they were indexed, is closed.

    Source. Audit #1031 c.6665380893: the "#1009 SUBSTATE-1" section and "Scientifically material discrepancies", item 5. The audit was read-only and model-authored, at main f051916a.

    Finding

    • What main says. verification/programmes/substratum/continuous-substates/README.md at f051916a was corrected on 2026-11-04 in c44fae54 and 4b291c46.

      • Lines 13–17: "Acceptance labels are author-reported. … Those reviews and runs are not on main, and the labels are not independent verification."
      • Lines 22–31 list the written paper proofs in that directory as "not independently reviewed on main".
    • What the branch says. The branch README at d4a80fc8, and the PR body's "Independent ACCEPT" labels, lack those status repairs.

    • Stale entries in the PR body:

      The status and review lines are corrected separately as maintenance.

    • Overlap with main.

      • 64 of the branch's 71 changed files are already on main, byte-identical, through evidence(§A.42, landing 2 of 3): copy the branch-only sources that records on main rely on #1099.
      • Six differ, because main corrected them later: README.md, observable-recurrence.md, equivalence-and-d3-scope.md, OIBridge.lean, ObservableMeasureReturn.lean and lean-manuscript-census.json.
      • One file exists only on the branch: native-coupling-nc1-preregistration.md.
      • The API reports mergeable_state: dirty. The PR is not mergeable as is.
    • Reviews. The last review of the head is REVISE, for a conceptual-definition problem (c.6555867706). The NC-1 definition round closed as DEFINITION-OPEN (Q1 and Q7 open).

    Limitations

    • The audit did not re-review any unit.
    • Every review recorded on Research (WIP): SUBSTATE-1 — internal sub-states and visible recurrence #1009 is a PR comment from the amaybaum account written by a model agent; none is human. On main these labels are author-reported and are not premises (§A.46 item 7).
    • CI run 41291372571 at d4a80fc8 was a pull_request run against the main of its time. It is not an F/E attestation.

    Required repair (owner ruling #1031 c.6666613671): "repair #1009's stale labels". The posted text of that comment shortens the list of five repairs to "[…]"; the wording here is as the coordinating session relayed it from the same ruling.

    Completion criteria for PR #1009

    1. PR description. It states the current head, the NC-1 REVISE and DEFINITION-OPEN outcome, the c981a006 acceptance, and that its acceptance labels are author-reported in the sense of main's README:13–17. This is done now as maintenance, with each review label left as recorded.
    2. Branch labels. If the branch is to be kept as a record that others read, its README and unit notes carry the same status repairs as main (README:13–31). Doing this needs a commit by a designated writer, and an authorization that covers it. The current authorization for commits to Research (WIP): SUBSTATE-1 — internal sub-states and visible recurrence #1009's branch is limited to "PO-1102, workstream C, setting-controlled-instrument question only" (this Issue's planning block). Whether label repairs fall within it is an open owner question, and none is assumed here.
    3. Merge. Merge is not a candidate as the branch stands. It would need all of the following, and none is authorized now:
      • reconciliation of the six files main corrected later;
      • an independent review of native-coupling-nc1-preregistration.md, which is REVISE / DEFINITION-OPEN;
      • exact-head CI;
      • a separate owner merge authorization.
    4. Retirement (§A.43 item 6) would need:

    Not authorized by this record: computation, stage 1 or 2 of NC-1, new premises, theorem promotion, merge or closure.
