Background

Related #1406

The successful offline install case passes its content and executable checks on Windows, then fails because Git Bash does not expose exact Unix permission bits. Windows acceptance shards now run on pull requests so this check is exercised before merge.

Changes

  • Keep the exact 0744 permission assertion on Unix and preserve the other installer assertions on Windows.
  • Run all three Windows acceptance shards for pull requests as well as main pushes.
  • Validation: all 38 CI checks pass, including all three Windows acceptance shards, Ubuntu, Alpine, macOS and Bash 3.0. The four offline replacement cases also pass locally; ShellCheck, make lint and actionlint pass.

Checklist

  • No changelog update needed: tests and CI only.
  • No documentation update needed: public behavior is unchanged.

Git Bash does not expose exact Unix permission bits. Keep the content and executable checks on every platform, and run Windows acceptance shards before merging.
