The native prover can establish containment inside an operator-approved maximum, but a repository-authored result or widened maximum must not approve its own PR. This adds an explicit
verify --openshell-proof-configstage using an external operator-owned configuration that pins both the executable and boundary by hash. Default static commands never execute or install a prover.Captured candidate/boundary/executable bytes run from a private directory through one audited, bounded process call. Evidence records composition provenance, Git/request identity, invocation, modeled domains, raw output and actual exit status; receipts revalidate external inputs. Imported native-proof plans are rejected. Containment, exceedance, unsupported, inconclusive, invalid, timeout and cancellation remain distinct. Required unavailable proof uses the existing insufficient-evidence route; a successful proof clears no other release obligation and grants no merge authority.
Depends on #958 (merged); targets
main. Closes #948.Validation: deterministic pinned-executable fixtures cover the wrapper contract, malformed/mismatched envelopes, resource/output limits, forbidden repository trust inputs, stale receipts, forged/imported results, default-static execution tripwires and preserved authored omissions in composed candidates. Review fixes also bound JSON depth/node counts and reject sensitive filenames and path aliases before artifact writes. Ruff, generated schemas and the exact-call-site trust-model lint pass. All GitHub workflows pass on final head
21446d0e7, including the complete regression suite and coverage threshold, lint, generated schemas, safety canaries, packaging and launcher checks. Local follow-ups passed 620 affected-module tests and 137 scan/output/native tests; 46 native cases exercise the contract. The NVIDIA prover binary is not installed in this environment; its v0.1.2 contract was checked against upstream source.Execution requires POSIX descriptors/process groups. Linux bounds virtual memory; Darwin retains wall/CPU/output/file/descriptor bounds. The approved runtime and shared libraries remain part of operator trust. Human review remains required for the release trust-root changes.
