fix(cli): don't let an unreadable credentials file crash the telemetry hook - #641

Conversation
…y hook The preAction hook resolves telemetry auth before every command's action, with no try/catch. When the credentials file could not be read (EPERM / EACCES — e.g. the Windows ACL lock-out `doctor` is written to diagnose), the raw fs error ended the process: `doctor` never got to report it and offline commands such as `agent list` failed, while telemetry is on by default. Add tryResolveTelemetryAuth, which never throws, and use it in the hook. On failure the command runs as if telemetry were off: telemetryEmit is cleared, so no beacon is sent and recordOutcome makes no fallback read at exit. Under --debug the swallowed error is logged as `[debug] telemetry skipped`. Closes TestSprite#465

WalkthroughTelemetry authentication is now best-effort. If auth resolution fails, the CLI disables telemetry and continues running the command. Unit and end-to-end tests cover resolver failures and command behavior with unreadable credentials. ChangesTelemetry authentication

Scope a security/detect-non-literal-fs-filename suppression to the mkdtemp-derived fixture path in telemetry.spec.ts (same wording as bundle.test.ts), and assert that doctor exits 0 with a [WARN] Credentials line when the file is unreadable but TESTSPRITE_API_KEY is set.

Keep this e2e coverage deterministic and offline.
The test/** guidance includes local-e2e tests and forbids real network and timers. The loopback HTTP server uses real sockets, and spawn uses a wall-clock 20_000 ms timeout. Existing e2e tests use the same pattern, but the repository defines no e2e exception.
Because runCli spawns dist/index.js as a separate process, parent-process fetch and sleep test dependencies cannot be injected directly. Move this behavior coverage to an in-process harness with injected dependencies, or add a supported subprocess fixture that provides those dependencies.

What does this PR do?
The
preActionhook insrc/index.tsresolves telemetry auth before every command's action, with notry/catch. When the credentials file can't be read, the raw fs error ends the process before the command runs. That happens withEPERM/EACCES, for example on files locked by an earlier CLI version through the Windows ACL bug, whichdoctoris written to diagnose. The result:testsprite doctorcrashes withError: EACCES …(exit 1) and never shows its own Credentials diagnosis.agent list, test lint, …) fail the same way.Telemetry is on by default, and
telemetry.ts's own contract says telemetry never changes a command's behavior, output or exit code.Following the scope in the triage comment on #465:
tryResolveTelemetryAuth()intelemetry.ts: the same lookup asresolveTelemetryAuth, but it never throws. On any error it returnsundefinedand hands the error to an optionalonError. A throwingonErroris swallowed too.telemetryEmit, so the command runs as if telemetry were off. No beacon is sent, andrecordOutcomemakes no fallback credentials read at exit. Without that, doctor, which can repair the file during its run, could still send one.--debug, the swallowed reason is logged as[debug] telemetry skipped: <message>, like the skill-nudge path (fix(skill-nudge): log swallowed errors in debug mode #317).--dry-run,completionand--plan-templatebehave exactly as before. No new dependency.
