🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winValidate the trailing separator before the overwrite check.
If
--outnames an existing directory with a trailing separator and--forceis absent, existsSync(resolved)throws “already exists” beforeopenOutputFilechecks the raw path. The command returns exit code 5, but it does not return the required “must point to a file, not a directory” message. Check the raw path before this overwrite check. As per path instructions, focus on “Correctness and clear error handling.”🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

…check `--out existing-dir/` without --force said "already exists"; it now says the path must point to a file. Addresses review on TestSprite#566. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

openOutputFile (test scaffold --out, test code get --out) and the JUnit --report-file guard checked the resolved path for a trailing separator. path.resolve() drops that separator for relative paths, and the --out guard only knew '/', so `--out plans/` or `--out C:\work\plans\` was written as a file named `plans` and reported as success. Check the raw argument for a trailing '/' or '\' instead. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_011dsM5h73r1JTRLmWxK2ZZv

What does this PR do?
test scaffold --out,test code get --outand--report-fileare meant to reject a path that ends in a separator, with the error "must point to a file, not a directory". Most such paths got through:path.resolve(), andresolve()drops a trailing separator.--outguard also only looked for/, never\.As a result,
--out plans/,--out C:\work\plans\and--report-file reports/each wrote a file namedplansorreportsand exited 0.This PR follows the accepted scope. Only the two guards change:
openOutputFile(src/commands/test.ts) now checks the raw argument for a trailing/or\.assertReportFileParent(src/lib/junit-report.ts) does the same. The exit code (5,
VALIDATION_ERROR) and the existing message are unchanged, and the surrounding output-path code is not refactored.Related issue

main(d61e6df). I ran the new tests againstmain'stest.tsandjunit-report.ts: 4 failed, 470 passed. With the fix they all pass. The four cases are:runScaffold:--outwith a relative path ending in/runScaffold:--outwith an absolute path ending in\writeJUnitReportFile: a relative path ending in/writeJUnitReportFile: a relative path ending in\VALIDATION_ERRORwith exit 5, and asserts that nothing was written to the temp directory.assertReportFileParent(when the check runs).
