Unless I misunderstood the code, by default, surface biomes reserve 128 blocks above and 32 blocks below for the surface biome itself. This usually means that going 128 block above or 32 blocks below a surface block will lead to another biome.
This change adds biome properties
reservedBufferAboveandreservedBufferBelowso you can change these values per-biome.
