[Medium impact] Updates mobile simulator startup script with new reload and session handling. Fix the unchecked PID before merging so one checkout cannot stop another checkout's tunnel. FindingsFix with agent prompt### Issue 1
apps/mobile/scripts/eas-dev.sh:122-124
`stop_egress` kills the PID from a machine-wide file without checking which checkout owns it. If checkout A has a running tunnel, starting a session in checkout B reads A's PID and kills A's client and its children. The checkout check in `egress_pids` does not cover this extra PID. Store the PID per checkout and verify the process before stopping it.
### Issue 2
apps/mobile/scripts/eas-dev.sh:151-159
`load_app` treats an existing `/tmp/superset-metro.log` as the running Metro server's log. If Metro exits and a developer restarts it in a terminal, that file remains but receives no new lines. The script reuses the running server, then waits through all three attempts and reports failure even when the app loads. Confirm that the log belongs to the active server before using it to decide whether loading failed.

For each issue above, determine whether it is valid and should be fixed. If so, fix it directly.SummaryUpdates

Old logs report false failures

For each issue above, determine whether it is valid and should be fixed. If so, fix it directly.--new used to keep the egress client of the old session, so the app could not reach Metro. The script now records the client it starts, replaces it whenever a session starts or the client is not connected to the current session, and keeps a healthy one on reuse. After the tunnel connects, it loads the app through the dev-client URL and waits for a new "iOS Bundled" line in the Metro log, three tries. --reload does only that, so agents never need agent-device open Superset. simctl is out of reach, so on a new session the script opens the keyboard once in Settings and dismisses the slide-to-type intro. Docs: how to reload and switch sessions, and that SwiftUI menu items need coordinate taps.
- Pass disableAutoLaunch=1&disableFab=1 on every dev-client load, so no dev menu opens at launch and no gear covers the toolbar (replaces #8616). - Keep egress and Metro logs and PIDs in .tmp/eas-dev/ of the checkout, and kill a PID only when it is still an egress client, so two checkouts no longer stop each other's tunnel. - On macOS, find a client's cwd with lsof instead of matching every client. - Confirm a load from the Metro log only when this script started Metro. - Treat the tunnel as healthy only when its last state is "connected". - Refuse the fingerprint lookup when bun differs from .bun-version, instead of starting a build that fails (the root cause behind #8618). - Exit when Metro does not start; reject --new with --reload.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winCheck the persisted PID's checkout before terminating it.
When an egress process exits without
stop_egress(), its PID file remains. If the OS reuses that PID for another checkout'seas simulator:egressprocess,egress_pids()accepts it because the persisted-PID branch checks onlyis_egress_client.start_egress()then callsstop_egress(), which kills that other checkout's tunnel.Require the persisted PID's working directory to match the current checkout before returning it.

Problem
From a long agent session on EAS cloud simulators (2026-10-17):
eas-dev.sh --newstarted a new session but kept the oldeas simulator:egressclient, which reads.env.eas-simulatoronce at start and so still tunneled to the old session. The app showed "Could not connect to the server" until someone killed the client by hand.agent-device open Supersetrelaunches without the Metro URL and fails again; only the dev-client URL recovers it. The script never checked that the load worked.@expo/uiMenu) are not inagent-device snapshot, and nothing said so.Fix
apps/mobile/scripts/eas-dev.sh.tmp/eas-dev/egress.pidin the checkout). The client is healthy when that process is alive and its log names the current session and says the tunnel connected. On a new session, or when the client is not healthy, the script stops every egress client for this checkout (and its chisel child) and starts one for the current session. A reused session with a healthy client is left alone.iOS Bundledline in the Metro log, up to 3 tries of 90 s. It exits non-zero and names both logs if Metro never serves a bundle.--reloaddoes only that load and check. It starts nothing and fails with a clear message if Metro, the session or the egress client is missing.simctl/defaults writeare out of reach from the sandbox, so this marks the intro as shown the same way a person would, for the whole simulator..agents/skills/mobile-eas-dev/SKILL.mdand the "Verifying in the real app" part ofapps/mobile/AGENTS.md: how to reload, how to switch sessions, why the egress client must be replaced, the keyboard intro, and that SwiftUI menu items need coordinate taps.Verification
On real EAS simulators from this cloud sandbox (with
MOBILE_EAS_BUILD_IDset to an existing build, because of the separate fingerprint mismatch):shellcheck0.10.0: clean.--newtwice in a row. Each time the old session stopped, the old egress client and its chisel child were gone, the new client named the new session, the intro was found and dismissed, and attempt 1 sawMetro served the bundle. After each run the app was on screen, and focusing a text field showed the keyboard with no intro.--reload: a new bundle was confirmed in 13 s.Reusing session, the egress PID did not change, and nothing was reloaded.--reloadrefused with a message, and a plain run restarted the client and confirmed a bundle.eas simulator:stop.Review follow-up (second commit)
A review of the first commit found five bugs. #8616 and #8618 are closed in favour of this PR.
disableAutoLaunch=1&disableFab=1, so no dev menu opens at launch and no gear covers the toolbar. Each session is a fresh install, so the flags go on every load, the first one included. This replaces test(mobile): guard the dev-launcher flags that hide dev overlays for agents #8616, which only added a test for the flags./tmppaths to.tmp/eas-dev/(gitignored). A PID is killed only when it is still aneas simulator:egressprocess. Before, two checkouts stopped each other's tunnel, and a reused PID could be killed./proc, so on macOS it matched every egress client on the machine. It now useslsof, and skips a client whose cwd is unknown.bun --versiondiffers from.bun-version, before a 15-minute build that cannot match. Root cause of the fingerprint mismatch: cloud workspaces made before the Bun 1.4.2 pin (ci: cut a PR push from ~15 min of CI to ~2.5 #8101, Oct 3) keep the image's 1.3.14. The current golden installs the pinned version, so a new workspace fixes it. This replaces fix(install): warn when dependencies come from a bun other than .bun-version #8618's warning inbun install.--new --reload, prints a line when no keyboard intro is found, and fixes the docs.Verified from this cloud sandbox after the rebase on main:
--newwithMOBILE_EAS_BUILD_ID: egress connected, intro dismissed,Metro served the bundleon attempt 1. On screen: the app's sign-in, no dev menu, no gear.--new --reload: refused.--reload: bundle confirmed. Plain run: reused the session and kept the tunnel.Summary by CodeRabbit
