This is the same change as #36. #36 merged into the claude/project-thread-k1i1rr branch after #32 had already been merged, so the change never reached main. Here it targets main directly. The diff is only the download-button commit.

Summary

  • src/common/installers.py: from Download buttons for the desktop app on Windows, macOS and Linux streamlit-template#430. It shows one button per platform, linked to the latest release's installers, and falls back to the Windows installer bundled into the image. The buttons appear only online.
  • settings.json now points github-user/repository-name to OpenMS/umetaflow instead of axelwalter/umetaflow-gui. Both the release lookup and the Electron update check read these keys. One side effect: a local run from source keeps its workspaces in ../workspaces-umetaflow.
  • The Dockerfiles save the downloaded installer as /app/OpenMS-App-Setup.exe.
  • common.py: the Tk file dialogs run in a child process.

umetaflow has no GitHub release yet. Until one is published, only the bundled Windows button shows.

Port of OpenMS/streamlit-template#430: the Quickstart links one button per
platform to the installers of the latest GitHub release (-Setup.exe,
-macOS-arm64.dmg, -Linux-x86_64.AppImage), with the bundled
OpenMS-App-Setup.exe as the Windows fallback when the release cannot be
read. The Tk file dialogs now run in a child process, as in the template,
so they no longer crash the server on macOS and Linux.

The earlier PR merged into the Electron branch after that branch had
already been merged, so its change never reached main. This takes main
plus the download-button commit.
