Original OpenCCU rootfs patch: 0012
Original filename: 0012-WebUI-RecoveryButton.patch
Original patch: https://github.com/OpenCCU/OpenCCU/blob/559a5a504/buildroot-external/package/openccu-base/rootfs-patches/0012-WebUI-RecoveryButton.patch (as prepared by OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4433 and fixed by OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4434 and OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4435)
Original changes: OpenCCU/OpenCCU@184a2311e
Preparation before migration: OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4433 (moves get_platform from rootfs patch 0001 to 0012)
Fixes before migration: OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4434 (platform check and flag handling in RecoveryMode.enter) and OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4435 (reject an unknown platform), both found in the review of this PR

The maintenance page ("Systemsteuerung > Zentralen-Wartung") offers a restart in safe mode, but no way to start the recovery system. OpenCCU's boot loaders (grub.cfg/boot.cmd of all bootable boards) start the recovery system when /usr/local/.recoveryMode exists. This applies the patch 1:1:

Line endings and encodings are preserved. The root www/ copies are unused legacy files and are left unchanged.

Other OpenCCU rootfs patches also modify methods.conf (0038, 0044, 0057, 0109, 0131 and 0205), cp_maintenance.cgi (0001, 0007, 0031, 0163, 0164 and 0165) and the language files. They still apply with zero fuzz.

Validation

OpenCCU cleanup PR (removing patch 0012 and updating the pin): OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4436

Generated by Claude Code

The maintenance page gets a "Recovery Modus" row next to the safe mode
restart. The new RecoveryMode.enter API method (admin only) creates
/usr/local/.recoveryMode and reboots, which makes the boot loader start
the recovery system. The row is hidden on the oci and lxc platforms,
which have no recovery system; the get_platform helper is added to
eq3_old/common.tcl for this. The confirmation for deleting a program
now includes the program name, which the program list already passes
in.

Applies OpenCCU rootfs patch 0012-WebUI-RecoveryButton.

📝 Walkthrough

The change adds an admin API method that marks the system for Recovery Mode and starts a reboot. The maintenance page exposes the action outside OCI and LXC platforms, with confirmation and restart messages in English and German.

Changes: Recovery Mode

Layer / File(s) Summary
Recovery Mode API
src/webui/www/api/methods.conf, src/webui/www/api/methods/recoverymode/enter.tcl
Adds the RecoveryMode.enter admin method. Its script checks platform support, saves system settings, writes /usr/local/.recoveryMode, starts a delayed reboot, and returns true.
Maintenance page and platform support
src/webui/www/tcl/eq3_old/common.tcl, src/webui/www/config/cp_maintenance.cgi, src/webui/www/webui/js/lang/{en,de}/translate.lang.js
Adds platform detection and a Recovery Mode action for platforms other than OCI and LXC. The page confirms the request and displays a restart message. English and German translations add related labels, prompts, and hints.

Recovery Mode restart works as intended in the normal case. Two edge cases remain. If the platform cannot be detected, the restart could run on an unsupported platform. If two admin requests overlap and one fails, it could remove the recovery marker that the other request still needs. Both are low-likelihood cases that the owner should be aware of.

RecoveryMode.enter now rejects the call on the oci and lxc platforms,
which have no recovery system, saves the ReGa settings before creating
/usr/local/.recoveryMode, and removes the flag again if it cannot be
written or the restart cannot be started.

Applies the fix to OpenCCU rootfs patch 0012 from OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4434.

- Line 15: Update the platform-detection catch in the recovery-mode request
handler to return an error when `/VERSION` cannot be opened or read or leaves
`platform` empty. Perform this validation before saving settings, writing the
marker, or starting a reboot; proceed only when platform detection succeeds.
- Line 37: Update cleanup of FLAG_FILE so a request deletes the marker only if
it still owns the exact file it created; capture its identity after creation and
re-check that identity immediately before deletion. Alternatively, serialize
marker creation, reboot initiation, and cleanup so overlapping requests cannot
replace or remove one another’s marker.

RecoveryMode.enter now returns an error if /VERSION cannot be read or
has no PLATFORM entry, before saving, creating the flag or restarting.

Applies the fix to OpenCCU rootfs patch 0012 from OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4435.
