The landing page's hop, fail and scrunch cards played their clip once at page load and then froze on the last frame, because those animations play once and the card holds the pose forever. A card showing a play-once pose now alternates it with 1.5 s of idle.

Checked on a local dev server: every mood card changes frames over a 12 s sample. The docs-page GIFs already loop.

Walkthrough

Non-looping pose animations now alternate between the requested pose and idle. A test checks that scrunch starts repeatedly over 30 seconds.

Pet pose replay

Layer / File(s) Summary
Pose replay cycle
docs/web/app/landing/petTick.ts, docs/web/test/pet.spec.ts
Pose mode uses the requested pose for its total frame duration, then uses idle for a 1500 ms rest. Missing or looping animations keep the requested pose, and wander mode keeps its existing cycle. The test checks for at least three scrunch starts over 30 seconds.

Change: Bug fix

A mood card can show less than the intended 1.5-second idle rest between poses. This is a bounded visual issue; merging carries low risk.

A rabbit watches poses play,
Then sees them rest before their next display.
“Scrunch!” it counts, again, again,
While idle waits between the frames.
The rabbit hops and ticks along.

Start the rest timer when idle starts.

cardPose can request idle before stepPlayer finishes the current one-shot animation. For example, if hop starts 300 ms into its cycle, cardPose requests idle after 1100 ms, but stepPlayer keeps hop until its full 1400 ms duration ends. The displayed idle period is then 1200 ms, not 1500 ms.

Record the rest interval from the actual idle entry, rather than from the wall-clock cycle.
