The permission_manifest_publish job scoped itself through the root go.mod and accepted only plain release tags, so a monorepo with per-service modules and <service>-vX.Y.Z tags got "manifest publish skipped" on every tag and had to keep a bespoke publisher with its own tag-to-environment derivation. Two additive inputs, both defaulting to today's behaviour: - manifest_go_mod_path (default 'go.mod') is forwarded to the composite, which already accepted go-mod-path — the umbrella just never passed it. It moves only the lib-auth scope gate; discovery stays repo-wide. - manifest_component_tags (default false) allows one optional lowercase component prefix ahead of the version. It is a prefix on the same anchored patterns, never a replacement: NUM, CORE, the anchors and the three-way order are untouched, so v01.2.3 and spi-v1.2.3-hotfix still fall through to the empty folder and publish nothing. Verified against an 18-case tag table; the flag-off column is identical to the current behaviour. Closes #901

The new subsection landed inside the paragraph that ends the environment-folder rule and ahead of the rest of the RI section, so "There is no aggregation on write" was severed from its paragraph and glued to the caller snippet's closing fence — the example rendered open-ended — and the AWS role, opt-out and manifest_publish_environment paragraphs, which describe the section as a whole, ended up under a heading about component tags. Rejoin the sentence to its paragraph and move the subsection to the end of the section. The docs diff is now purely additive.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winUpdate the scope-gate description for non-root modules.
This paragraph still says that the scope check uses
go.mod. Whenmanifest_go_mod_pathis set, the workflow checks the configured module path instead. State that the check uses the configured path, with rootgo.modas the default.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Description
go-release.yml'spermission_manifest_publishjob scoped itself through the rootgo.modand accepted only plain release tags (vX.Y.Z,-beta.N,-rc.N). A monorepo with per-service modules and<service>-vX.Y.Ztags —LerianStudio/br-sfn— therefore gotmanifest publish skippedon every tag, passesrun_manifest_publish: false, and keeps a bespoke ~95-line publisher with its own tag-to-environment derivation. Two additive inputs on
go-release.yml, both defaulting to today's behaviour:manifest_go_mod_path'go.mod'go-mod-path. Moves only the lib-auth scope gate; manifest discovery stays repo-wide.manifest_component_tagsfalseThe composite (
src/validate/permission-manifest-publish) is not modified — it already declaredgo-mod-path; the umbrella simply never passed it.The component prefix is a prefix on the same anchored patterns, never a replacement.
NUM,CORE, the anchors and the three-way branch order are untouched, so the hardening from the strict-semver change is preserved:v01.2.3andspi-v1.2.3-hotfixstill fall through to the empty folder and publish nothing. The prefix must start with a lowercase letter and hold only lowercase letters, digits and hyphens.Scope note: issue #901 proposed a
manifest_tag_patterninput carrying a caller-supplied regex, reusingcomponent_tag_patternfrom #898. This PR deliberately does not do that — #898 is still open, and a caller-supplied regex interpolated into the job's shell is exactly the surface the strict-semver change hardened away from. A boolean opt-in expresses the one shape the consumer needs without accepting foreign patterns. Agreed with the repo owner before implementation.Type of Change

None. Both inputs are additive with defaults that preserve current behaviour:
manifest_go_mod_pathdefaults to the rootgo.modthe job already implied, andmanifest_component_tagsdefaults tofalse, leaving the gate plain-semver-only. No input was renamed, no default changed, no step outsidepermission_manifest_publishwas touched — the only removed lines in the workflow diff are the four rewritten inside that one step.Testing
@this-branchor the beta tagactionlintongo-release.ymlis clean, and every workflow file still parses as YAML.The environment derivation was extracted and run against an 18-case table. The
flag=falsecolumn is identical to current behaviour:v1.2.3productionproductionv1.2.3-beta.4developmentdevelopmentv1.2.3-rc.1stagingstagingspi-v1.2.3productionslc-edge-v1.2.3-beta.4developmentcockpit-v2.0.0-rc.3stagingv01.2.3spi-v1.2.3-hotfixSpi-v1.2.3_spi-v1.2.3spi-v1.2.3-beta.01Caller repo / workflow run: not yet run on a caller.
br-sfnis the intended validator — it already callsgo-release.yml@tier-2, so flippingrun_manifest_publish: truewith both new inputs against the beta fromdevelopexercises this end to end, and lets it drop its dedicated publisher.Related Issues
