Summary

  • add a separate, unauthenticated Zoo API Docs MCP server backed by a pinned public API index
  • expose focused operation, schema, guide, and canonical curl lookup tools
  • bundle the server with a shared lookup skill and manifests for Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, and the MCP Registry
  • add container, publishing, index-refresh, release, smoke-test, and documentation support
  • keep authenticated CAD tooling isolated behind the existing runtime

Why

Assistants need a small, read-only surface for finding exact Zoo API methods, paths, schemas, and documentation without loading the authenticated CAD execution server or calling Zoo operations.

Impact

Users can install the hosted documentation server without a Zoo token and use the bundled skill for efficient, source-linked API reference lookups. Existing zoo-mcp users retain the authenticated execution workflow.

Validation

  • git diff --check origin/main...HEAD passed
  • GitHub comparison confirms this branch is 2 commits ahead of main and 0 behind
  • attempted uv run -n auto pytest -m "not live"
  • attempted uv run ruff check and uv run ruff format --check
  • attempted uv run ty check

The Python checks could not start locally because dependency resolution could not download locked packages (pymongo, numpy, and pillow) from PyPI in this environment. No test, lint, formatting, or type-check failure was observed; CI still needs to run those checks.

Closing to rethink how we'll implement just docs access without an api token
