I'm a Computer Science student at SUSTech (Southern University of Science and Technology) in Shenzhen.
@Fideow is my alt account.
I have a sweet tooth, but I don't like things too sweet — so I always order my milk tea with half sugar. I find cupcakes a bit overly sweet, yet I still get happy the moment I eat one. I love milk, coffee, matcha, chocolate, milk skin (奶皮子), strawberry, and peach flavors. I'm not a big fan of citrus, mango, or banana flavors, though I do enjoy eating oranges and bananas as fresh fruits.
I love drinks, but lately I've been drinking more milk for health reasons. If I wake up early enough, I usually grab a serving of beef balls from the convenience store downstairs before class. They're pretty expensive — a small portion costs nine yuan — but they use authentic Chaoshan beef balls. Chaoshan beef balls and fresh-cut beef are my absolute favorites, especially with satay sauce. Even though I'm from the north, I think Guangdong satay sauce is so good it could make shoe soles taste delicious.
I prefer noodles and bread over rice, but when I eat meat dishes like Coca-Cola chicken wings, I like them with rice. I often get hungry on my way back to the dorm at night, and what I crave most is oden — it's delicious, filling, and won't make you gain weight; it's simply heavenly. Snacks like konjac strips are pretty good too.
I'm basically an omnivore with no food allegiances. I like both KFC and McDonald's, and I can drink either Coca-Cola or Pepsi — though I don't drink much soda these days. I occasionally get up early to have breakfast at McDonald's, or rush to KFC after an 8 AM class when I'm starving. McDonald's McMuffins and KFC's paninis taste pretty similar, and both are great.
Compared to most Chinese people, I enjoy Western and Japanese food more. I sometimes get tired of Chinese food, but I never get tired of pizza, steak, tacos, sushi, or grilled meat. I'm a "meat person" — I usually prioritize meat over everything else, and only eat vegetables for health reasons. That said, there are definitely tasty veggie dishes too: stir-fried bean sprouts, braised green beans, cold shredded vegetable salad, tomato and potato stir-fry, cucumber and glass noodle salad, assorted cold dishes, and so on.
