What this changes

A [[route]] can be given as outline (its floor polygon) instead of path and width_m; it is then computed over its whole floor at the grid spacing. BIM models draw corridors as rooms, so Ashlar's emergency-lighting plugin (R2.9a) builds routes this way. Route now has a shape (RouteShape::Centre or RouteShape::Outline); giving both forms, or neither, is a located error.

How you verified it

  • cargo xtask ci, natively and in the local Linux container. Merged on the local checks (hosted CI unavailable).
  • Hand-checked: a 2 m × 1 m corridor gives two points at 800 / 4.5^1.5 and 800 / 6.5^1.5 lx

Life safety, never panic, provenance

  • No path to a pass; polygon validated like areas; nothing from a standard

Records

  • docs/scene-format.md, parity/features.toml, ROADMAP.md log

A route can be given as its floor polygon (as BIM models draw corridors)
and is computed over all of it; for Ashlar's emergency-lighting plugin.
