# Physicist

{{#template ../../templates/unimplemented.md}}

The Physicist is a **Science** job with control over the station's Artificial Gravity Engine as well as expertise in low-gravity environments.
They reside primarily within the physics lab, where they have a variety of gravity-related tools.

## Zero-G Native

Due to their commanding knowledge of physics, the Physicist has a unique agility when weightless.
Not only will they never slam into walls, but they also have better acceleration and can move slightly faster than the other crew.

Additionally, the Physicist also gains access to the "push off" ability when in low-gravity.
When used, they tactfully harness Newton's third law, stunning the target and sending them flying while also launching themselves in the opposite direction.
This serves both as a combo maneuver for combat as well as an escape tool for getting away from potential threats.

Alongside their natural affinity, the Physicist also receives a variety of tools suited to low-gravity environments.
- A space suit, mini-jetpack, and magboots, which allow for operating in space (nature's own zero-g)
- A force gun which can grab and throw around various objects
- Several **antigravity field generators**. When active, anything in their radius will become weightless
- Several attachable **weight nullifiers**. These are small devices that can be stuck onto items or structures to make them weightless
- Several **concussion grenades** which physically launch nearby players away from the grenade itself. Can be used while weightless to propel oneself with great speed

## Gravity Girl

Besides the physics lab, the Physicist also has access to the **artificial gravity engine**.
This is a large figure-eight-shaped vacuum chamber which provides gravity to the station when powered through two large gyroscopes.
When active, the entire chamber itself also has zero-gravity.
Damaging, sabotaging, or depowering either Gyroscope will cause the station to lose Gravity.
Once it's restored, Gravity will return after a delay.

Additionally, this area also houses the **gravity control console.**
This is a computer that allows Gravity to be optionally disabled per-room on the station.
This allows the Physicist (or anyone wanting to be annoying) to create low-gravity pathways through the station, either aiding or hindering in traversal.
