feat(shared-data): per-review author key for seeding analysis - #1615
Rate-Services will mask stored review author names (DOS/Rate-Services#1073). The analyzer told authors apart by author_name, so masked names would merge real authors. Reviews may now carry an optional authorKey (keyed HMAC computed by RS), and the duplicate-text and seeding checks group by it.
ScrapedReviewSchema / ShopeeReview: optional authorKey, 16 to 128 chars of [A-Za-z0-9_-].
Importer upserts it into new rate.review_author_keys and loads it for the analysis. Failures warn and fall back to author_name.
reviewAuthorIdentity: key: when present, else name: (lower-cased), else id:. No scoring weight or UI change.
Design choice: a side table, not a column on rate.reviews, because anon has a table-level SELECT on rate.reviews and a stable key would let anyone link one author's reviews across products.
Ingest contract and migration proposal: Docs/Proposals/2026-11-06-dos-me-review-author-keys*.
DOS-Me migration (not applied here)
The DOS-Me PR for rate.review_author_keys is linked in the issue. Nothing is applied to prod or Beta. Until it is applied the importer logs a warning and analyses by author_name, so merging this first is safe.
Evidence
Analyzer tests: same masked name with different key = two authors; same key = one author; missing key falls back to name.
Importer test: key stored for the review; schema tests for the key format.
tsc clean in importer; importer and shared-data suites pass.
This PR introduces a per-review authorKey (HMAC) to the ingestion pipeline, allowing the AI review analyzer to distinguish between different authors even when their names are masked by Rate-Services. It adds a new review_author_keys table for secure storage and updates the duplicate-text detection logic to prioritize this key over the masked author_name.
Adds schema validation tests for authorKey (valid formats vs. invalid lengths/characters).

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Review data can include an optional author key to help distinguish reviewers when displayed names are masked or differ. Invalid keys are ignored without discarding the review.
Duplicate-text analysis can use author keys to group reviews consistently. When no key is available, it continues to use author names, with a review-ID fallback when the name is missing.
Bug Fixes
Author-based duplicate detection is less likely to merge different reviewers with identical masked names or split one reviewer whose displayed name varies.
Rate-Services will mask stored author names (RS#1073), so the analyzer can no
longer tell authors apart by author_name. Reviews may now carry an optional
authorKey (keyed HMAC computed by RS, 16 to 128 chars of [A-Za-z0-9_-]).
- ScrapedReviewSchema and ShopeeReview accept authorKey.
- The importer stores it in rate.review_author_keys (a table anon cannot read,
unlike rate.reviews) and loads it for the analysis; failures log a warning.
- Duplicate-text and near-duplicate seeding checks group by author_key when
present, else by author_name, else by review id.
- Proposal SQL, verify, rollback and the ingest contract in Docs/Proposals.

The change adds optional author keys to scraped reviews, stores keys separately for analysis, and uses them to group authors in duplicate-text analysis. It also adds proposal, verification, and rollback SQL for the separate key table.
The shared review schema and Shopee review type accept optional authorKey values matching the specified format. Tests check that invalid keys are dropped without rejecting the listing. The proposal documents the field contract and name-based fallback.
The proposal SQL creates rate.review_author_keys, defines grants and row-level policies, and runs in a transaction. The verification script adds four read-only checks, and the rollback script drops the table if present. The .gitignore rules allow these proposal SQL files to be tracked.
The analyzer selects identity from a nonblank key, then a lower-cased author name, then the review ID. Tests cover keyed and fallback grouping.
Key persistence and analysis wiring apps/importer/src/shopee/shopee-to-supabase.ts, apps/importer/src/shopee/__tests__/shopee-to-supabase.test.ts
The importer looks up stored reviews and upserts their non-empty author keys. It loads stored keys for analysis inputs and warns if key reads or writes fail. Pipeline tests cover upserting a key for a stored review.

Avoid treating mixed key and name identities as different authors.
When one author has both keyed and unkeyed reviews with the same qualifying text, the analyzer counts two authors and flags both reviews as seeding_fake. This can exclude them from ratings and increase the calculated merchant risk. Handle mixed coverage before counting distinct authors.

Match the author key to the stored review.
When two scraped reviews share a normalized ID, insertion keeps the first review but key storage selects the last keyed review. This can merge distinct authors and suppress seeding signals. Ensure the key matches the persisted review, including when that review already exists.

Reconcile legacy review IDs before attaching keys.
Older ingests could store IDs with surrounding whitespace. A later crawl uses the trimmed ID, so this lookup misses the legacy row and leaves it without a key. The analyzer can then merge distinct authors with the same masked name. Reconcile legacy IDs when backfilling keys.
