When a temp-stored image is evicted by chatluna-storage (TTL or LRU), the persisted message keeps a dangling local URL. Every inline adapter refetched it on each turn, logging a 404 warning and adding latency per dead link per round. fetchImageUrl now memoizes 404s in a process-local Set and returns null on a known-dead URL instead of making the request again. The first miss still throws and warns once via each caller's existing catch; repeat rounds skip both the network call and the warning. Non-404 errors (transient failures) still throw and retry as before. Instead of silently dropping the part, call sites substitute a `[image expired]` text marker so the model can see an image was there and is now gone. Ollama keeps dropping the part because its image parts live in a separate `images` field that cannot carry text; the existing `[image:<url>]` text in message content already conveys the reference. Problem
read_chat_messagepersists image references aschatluna-storagetemp URLs (/temp/<hash>). Those files are evicted by TTL (default 30d) or by LRU caps (maxStorageCount300 /maxStorageSize500MB), leaving dangling URLs inchatluna_message.Every inline adapter (gemini / claude / qwen / ollama, plus the openai-like mapper in shared-adapter) refetches all history images on each turn. Each dead URL therefore produced one failed HTTP request + one
