Scrob & Floppy Support

Two new tracking/scrobble services have been added this update: Scrob and Floppy. Both of these services would be self-hosted. By self-hosting your own media tracker you are the one who owns your data.

Floppy — a scrobbling service you host yourself. Like the other providers, once you add your Floppy account in settings it will scrobble your watch progress automatically as you play content.

Scrob — another scrobble provider now supported alongside Trakt and Simkl. Add it the same way you add any other provider in settings, and it will start tracking your plays. Make sure you add your username and password in Umbrella's settings to take full advantage of all Scrob's features.

A few related changes went in alongside these:

• Changes were made to avoid double scrobbles when you have multiple services enabled at once.
• A separate stop event is now sent to Floppy so the "now playing" banner clears properly when you stop something.

I don't endorse either service, but I wanted to offer more options. If you use either of these services, add your account under the provider settings and let me know how it's tracking. If you run into any issues with scrobbles not registering or double-counting, please open an issue and let me know.

I tried out Floppy and Scrob today with Umbrella. Both work well for the most part but each one has limitations that will prevent me from fully using them currently.

Floppy:
Umbrella only imports 200 watched movies from Floppy, and they are not in order of most recently watched. I have a widget showing my recently watched movies and, using Floppy as the source, it shows random movies from my history.

The Watched movies list from Floppy goes by Umbrella's watchlist sorting rather than history sorting.

None of my custom lists from Floppy show up in Umbrella.

Scrob:
I believe my issues are with Scrob itself rather than Umbrella. It seems that Scrob does not have a built in watchlist. I can create my own watchlist in Scrob, but when I finish something from the watchlist in Umbrella it is not automatically removed from the Scrob watchlist. I will put in a feature request with Scrob. If Scrob doesn't add the watchlist feature, could Umbrella add the option to automatically remove finished items from certain lists?

I have added support for custom lists for Floppy. I've also corrected the only 200 movies being imported for history and sorting order.

scrob: that's a feature in the way it works. you would be correct to request that from them.

Awesome! I don't see the fixes in 6.7.83 so I'm guessing they'll be in a future release? Thanks!

6.7.84 fixed importing movie history from Floppy and the sorting order. There is another issue with the completed movies list from Floppy I see now. When I mark a movie as watched at a previous date in Floppy, it shows that movie as the most recently watched in Umbrella. It seems that Umbrella is using date added from Floppy instead of date completed.

Also, when I select an episode from the Progress Episodes Floppy list, it does not begin scraping. Instead it opens another page that lists the episode again, and when I select the episode from here it starts scraping.

I can look at the sorting order on watch history. Do users spend much time going through the list of movies they've watched?

You need to turn the setting on that was added in the most recent update. Under Online Services > Floppy > Direct Progress Scraping
