From 49f9220925130f5c424f72f4abcb8f08e002a81d Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Tejas Shah Date: Tue, 6 Oct 2026 02:13:10 +0700 Subject: [PATCH 1/3] feat(bin): advisory risk level beside a recorded pull request, opt-in bin/fm-pr-check.sh prints one advisory risk line after a pull request is registered as ready, when TYPESAFE_API_KEY is present. Code sets the level from paths, deletions and size; for a project listed in config/jev-code-projects Jev answers up to three yes/no questions through bin/fm-jev-lib.sh and may only raise it. An unanswered question never yields low, an unlisted project sends nothing, and the registration bin/fm-pr-merge.sh performs skips the rating. --- AGENTS.md | 4 +- bin/fm-jev-lib.sh | 17 +- bin/fm-pr-check.sh | 17 +- bin/fm-pr-merge.sh | 2 +- bin/fm-pr-risk-lib.sh | 255 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ bin/fm-test-run.sh | 7 +- docs/configuration.md | 31 +++- docs/documentation-audiences.json | 4 + docs/verification/jev-pr-risk.md | 97 ++++++++++ tests/fm-pr-merge.test.sh | 19 ++ tests/fm-pr-risk.test.sh | 295 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ tests/fm-teardown.test.sh | 8 +- 12 files changed, 740 insertions(+), 16 deletions(-) create mode 100644 bin/fm-pr-risk-lib.sh create mode 100644 docs/verification/jev-pr-risk.md create mode 100755 tests/fm-pr-risk.test.sh diff --git a/AGENTS.md b/AGENTS.md index 66c2d3d1ef8..ea5d79fea0b 100644 --- a/AGENTS.md +++ b/AGENTS.md @@ -69,7 +69,7 @@ README.md public overview and development notes .claude/mods/ Claude Code mods (function-hooks plugins), committed; Calm's module may load through CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_FUNCTION_HOOKS or tengu_plugin_hooks_modules, but activates only when CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_FUNCTION_HOOKS is exactly "1" and is otherwise a complete no-op (docs/calm.md) skills/ standalone public installer-facing skills, committed; not loaded by firstmate bin/ helper scripts, committed; read each script's header before first use -.env optional Relay pairing token (presence-gates section 14), mail-plane credentials (schema: docs/configuration.md "Mail plane"), and typed dispatch resolution key TYPESAFE_API_KEY (presence-gates bin/fm-dispatch-resolve.sh, the watcher's routine-wake triage, and the Claude worker stop hook's finished check; docs/configuration.md "Typed dispatch resolution", "Routine-wake triage", and "Finished check"); LOCAL, gitignored +.env optional Relay pairing token (presence-gates section 14), mail-plane credentials (schema: docs/configuration.md "Mail plane"), and typed dispatch resolution key TYPESAFE_API_KEY (presence-gates bin/fm-dispatch-resolve.sh, the watcher's routine-wake triage, the Claude worker stop hook's finished check, and the pull request risk level; docs/configuration.md "Typed dispatch resolution", "Routine-wake triage", "Finished check", and "Pull request risk level"); LOCAL, gitignored config/crew-harness crewmate harness override; LOCAL, gitignored; absent or "default" = same as firstmate. Run `bin/fm-pr-check.sh ` with the URL copied from that ready signal - it records `pr=` and the forge's `pr_head=` when available in the task's meta and arms the watcher's merge poll. a deleted file, 400 or more changed lines, or 20 or more files is medium. +The model is then asked only the judgement that remains, as up to three separate yes/no questions: behaviour changed with no test, the description does not match the change, and something hard to undo. +Code answers the first one itself when a test file changed or no code file did, and never asks the second when the forge returned no title or description. +An answer counts only when its confidence and the chosen option's probability are both at or above the shared 0.6 floor. +A counted yes can only raise the level, to high for something hard to undo and to medium for the other two, and no answer lowers the level the facts set. +`risk: low` is printed only when all three questions were settled; when any is unanswered because of a timeout, an API error, a malformed answer, low confidence, or an unreadable description, and nothing else raised the level, the line is `risk: not rated`, and an unanswered question is always named on the line. +A change that cannot be read at all is `risk: not rated`. + +The key alone sends nothing about any project. +The optional local, gitignored `config/jev-code-projects` lists the projects whose changes the model may see, one project name per line (the directory name of the task's `project=` metadata), with blank lines and lines starting with `#` ignored. +An absent or empty file lists no project, which is how firstmate ships, and the file is not inherited by secondmate homes, so each home opts its own projects in. +For a listed project each call sends the pull request's title and description, its file list with line counts, the facts above, and the first 30000 bytes of its diff to `https://api.typesafe.ai`; that text is written by the pull request's author, so it can sway an answer, which is why an answer may raise the level and nothing more. +For a project that is not listed the model is asked nothing and the forge is not read for a description: the level comes from the facts alone, every question code could not settle is named as unanswered with `project not listed`, and the line is `risk: not rated` when no fact raised the level, never `risk: low`. +The rating adds at most one change read (60 seconds), one forge read (20 seconds), and three model calls to a registration made with `bin/fm-pr-check.sh `, and stops calling the model after the first call that fails outright. +The level is rated only then: the re-registration `bin/fm-pr-merge.sh` performs passes `--no-risk`, so a merge reads no change, sends nothing, waits on nothing, and prints no `risk:` line. +`bin/fm-pr-risk-lib.sh`'s header owns the exact facts, thresholds, and questions, `bin/fm-jev-lib.sh` owns the request, the key handling, and the `fm_jev_code_allowed` project list read, and [`verification/jev-pr-risk.md`](verification/jev-pr-risk.md) records the live evidence. + ## Gate defaults (.no-mistakes.yaml) The tracked `.no-mistakes.yaml` sets `test.evidence.store_in_repo: true` and pins `commands.lint` to `bin/fm-lint.sh`, the same owner CI invokes. @@ -630,8 +655,8 @@ The tool never replaces firstmate's judgment, `quota-array-dispatch`, the captai By accepted design, a `clear` result does not enforce catalog/authentication, reasoning-class, or completion-runway gates.
