notes: 'Draft PR #2733, CI running. maturin/pyo3 extension vendor-compiling libjxl (+ highway/brotli/skcms) from source via the `vendored` cargo feature. highway only enables RVV when compiled with a `v`-carrying -march (not passed here), so it collapses to the portable EMU128/SCALAR baseline - no RVV dispatch-trap risk (gotchas 139/272/279/448). skcms gates its own SIMD on `!defined(__x86_64__)`, portable on riscv64 too. Upstream''s own CMakeLists.txt already has a riscv branch. 3/5 build legs (cp312/313/314) green first try; cp310/cp311 failed with pip trying to build Pillow (a runtime dep) from sdist - "headers or library files could not be found for jpeg" - because our registry''s newest riscv64 Pillow wheel for cp310 is 11.3.0 and for cp311 is 12.2.0 (Pillow 12.0 dropped cp310, 12.3.0 dropped cp311), so pip''s resolver preferred a newer sdist-only version across the combined index over the older prebuilt wheel. Fixed by adding PIP_ONLY_BINARY=pillow to CIBW_ENVIRONMENT_LINUX (same pattern used for pyamg/tabmat/graspologic-native); pushed as e004f0137e7, new CI run in progress.'
