The dependency is required though: its build script reads `DEP_OPENSSL_INCLUDE` to compile the CFFI-generated C code against the right OpenSSL headers, and Cargo only exports a `links` crate's metadata to its immediate dependents. Mark the dependency as intentional with `use openssl_sys as _;`. * Shorten the openssl-sys dependency comment (cherry picked from commit b3f5a1295d289c13488e09782a5bab95e6cf1b73) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01FAY1qMQzUfataGR3NBtbsH --- src/rust/cryptography-cffi/src/lib.rs | 5 +++++ 1 file changed, 5 insertions(+) diff --git a/src/rust/cryptography-cffi/src/lib.rs b/src/rust/cryptography-cffi/src/lib.rs index a54dcafa57d7..ca32a7bf29dd 100644 --- a/src/rust/cryptography-cffi/src/lib.rs +++ b/src/rust/cryptography-cffi/src/lib.rs @@ -4,6 +4,11 @@ #![deny(rust_2018_idioms, clippy::undocumented_unsafe_blocks)] +// Not called directly, but `build.rs` needs `DEP_OPENSSL_INCLUDE`, which +// Cargo only exposes to immediate dependents of `openssl-sys`.
