hey @atwine! let's see if we can sort this out.
please, do you want to run ls -la ./setup/scripts/deployments, and paste the results here?
if that results in an error, you may try ls -la ./setup/scripts, or even ls -la ./setup until you get a list of the files/folders.

better yet, please try  sudo chown -R $USER:$USER . and let me know if that helps?

This is how I solved it, its working for now. (Claude helped)

Great detective work @atwine! 👏 CRLF line endings were the culprit!

For others on Windows/WSL: let's break down how that worked ☝️

1. Quick bulk fix for today: replaces the CRLFs
   find setup/scripts -name “*.sh” -exec sed -i ‘s/\r$//’ {} + && echo “Fixed!”
2. Verify that worked: should output 0
   find setup/scripts -name "*.sh" | xargs file | grep -c CRLF.
3. Prevent future mishaps like this:
   git config --global core.autocrlf input
