Will Codex be rewritten from Rust to TypeScript?
#58235
I'm maintaining a customized downstream fork of Codex and would like to understand the public architecture direction before investing further in it.
Are there any plans or ongoing efforts to rewrite Codex's Rust implementation in TypeScript, or other major architectural changes expected in the next few months?
Are there any public tracking issues, design documents, or compatibility commitments that downstream maintainers should follow?
By Codex, I mean the overall open-source system, including its core agent runtime/harness. Any publicly shareable guidance would help us choose where to invest our development effort.
