Description

Describe the bug

When using GitHub CLI Copilot in iTerm2, the main interface sometimes turns blank during a response, even though the session is still active.

This does not appear to be a full crash. The app continues generating output in the background, and token/output activity still changes, but the visible main screen stops rendering properly.

Affected version
Please run gh version and paste the output below.

Steps to reproduce the behavior
Open GitHub CLI Copilot in iTerm2.
Submit a long prompt.
Continue interacting through a few follow-up prompts in the same session.
During a later response, observe that the main screen turns blank even though the session is still running.
Expected vs actual behavior
Expected:
The Copilot interface should continue rendering the response normally in the terminal throughout the session.

Actual:
The main UI area goes blank while the session is still active. Output/token activity continues changing, which suggests the process is still running but the terminal UI is no longer rendering correctly.

Environment
GitHub CLI: latest available version at time of reporting
Feature used: GitHub CLI Copilot
Terminal: iTerm2
OS: macOS
Hardware: Apple Silicon Mac
Logs
Paste the activity from your command line. Redact if needed.

Additional context
This happens after one long prompt and a few recurring follow-up prompts in the same session.
The app still appears responsive in the background because output/token counts continue changing.
The issue seems to affect screen rendering rather than stopping generation entirely.
