[Bug] New chat session opened from a canvas focuses Terminal instead of selected canvas

Summary

When a new session is started from any canvas and the session opens under No project / Chats, the app shows the Terminal instead of the canvas that initiated the session.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open any canvas.
2. Start a new session from that canvas.
3. Let the new session open under No project / Chats.

Actual behavior

The Terminal is brought to the foreground, even though the canvas was the selected surface when the session was started.

Expected behavior

The initiating/selected canvas should remain visible and focused when the newly created session opens. The Terminal should not replace it unless explicitly selected.

Scope

This affects all canvases.

Context

• The terminal panel was open but should not have become active automatically.
• Observed on 2026-08-26.
