Currently, the dropdown menu/workspace list has a bias toward left-expanding placement (i.e. such that the opener sits top-right of the menu). That makes sense if the button is in its default location on the right side of the browser window, but workspaces are typically (and in my opinion more sensibly) managed with a button placed left of the tab list. Unless obstructed by a screen edge, that results in the dropdown still expanding to the left, flowing mostly outside the browser window. It looks awkward and it makes using it more of a reach.
I would like the menu to bias toward expanding inward (i.e. toward horizontal center of the window), and only position itself otherwise when necessary to fit the screen (or perhaps better, window). The most sophisticated approach would be to bias toward a midpoint more like 2/3rds or 3/5ths of the way right (so the button when in a middle segment opens like a normal menu, expanding to the right), and then float/expand both ways when needed in really small windows (i.e. center in window when window is narrower than menu).
But any approach that doesn't put the workspaces menu 90% outside the window when its button replaces the "Firefox View" button would be a considerable improvement.
