Migrate to AWS SDK v2

Description

It would be neat to migrate to AWS SDK v2 since v1 was deprecated quite some time ago. AWS provides a tool to help with this task: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sdk-for-java/latest/developer-guide/migration-tool.html.

Hello, we are working on a new major release which will integratre with AWS SDK v2, among other features. I will let you know when the RC is out :)

Hello, we are confident we can have it in the following weeks. Please, be aware it will be a RC, we won't have the documentation ready yet, but we'll provide examples with everything you need and we are happy to assist you

we have almost ready the RC for you to try out. We are preparing an small guid with an example with what you need to do. Are you still interested?
